Two topspin forehands from Duckett bring up his hundred

I think we're seeing why Inglis has the gloves. That decision has got little to do with their respective keeping skills but more to do with their ability in the outfield.

Mindless batting. Just no need to take on Zampa.

Despite not having the Gloves, Carey takes another catch.
    Brook 3 c Carey B Zampa

    219/4

Zampa is getting his eye in as England need to accelerate.

England stalling a bit here. 380-400 looked odds on. Need to keep the runs ticking over with a boundary thrown into the mix as well.

    Mindless ?

The over Root was out was the best over bowled and he only conceded 1.

There are showing respect to Zampa but the overs are going.
Great 6 by Duckett with the free hit !

That was appalling from Buttler. One of the best white ball players in the world shouldn't be hitting it straight to a man like that.

It's a game of Jeopardy and at this stage, he needed to go after Maxwell; he just got it wrong.

10 overs to go, you do need to start stepping it up.
  • Loves a decision this umpire.

It was execution but he also knew exactly where the man was. It has probably cost us 30 plus runs because those coming in after him have little time to pick up the pace.

India win by 6 wickets with 21 balls to spare. Gill becomes the fourth player in just two matches in the competition to score a ton which is something that we have consistently failed to do in recent matches. Time for at least one of our seven batsmen in the team to do so.
    Step forward Ben Duckett

    316/5 Livingstone 17

Neither Brook, Butler or Livingstone could stay in long enough with the sublime Ben Duckett.

We understand why he did it but that has to be the worst review of all time - the ball hitting the middle of middle stump. Magnificent effort with the bat for 165 off 143 balls.

Arguably the most optimistic review of all time.

    Excellent innings nonetheless.

322/7 and Duckett is Lbw 165 after scoring over 50% of the runs.

    351-8 (50)

A decent score but we will be disappointed with that final power play given we had the platform and managed just 84-4 off those final 10 overs especially with the "part timers", Labuschagne and Maxwell, bowling half of them. Root and Livingstone will have to do a similar job for us.

What do you reckon @MrOneLung ? About 40 short?

Well, if Smith doesn't get at three in the next match, surely Archer has to.

Good cameo by Archer with 21 as England finish with 351/8

Definitely not a bad score but as Mr one lung said early doors it feels like 40 odd runs short on this track.

Archer, Wood and Carse need to be accurate or else the extras will be a high score after seeing England's innings

That 1st over sums up Wood's problem.
4 good balls but the 2 balls more to leg went for 4  on this fast outfield.

21/1 after the dangerous Head is out for 6 after a C+B from Archer.
  • My word, Hayden is annoying.

    27/2 Smith c Duckett b Wood 5

Good start by the England pace men and we probably need to bowl them out to win despite getting 350.
