I think we lose every game in our group. We can't play spin remotely well so Afghanistan will embarrass us1
-
Rashid Khan and Mujeeb will have a field day against us.
Only hope is that the Aussie mix and match side completely collapses too.0 -
We got no chance. India favourites 6/4. With Aussies and kiwis second fave at 5/1. We somehow come next at 7/1.0
-
New Zealand looked very, very good in the opening game0
-
Young and Latham showing how to bat in 50 over cricket.
Spin for new Zealand was so superior to Pakistan. Plus some decent fielding. Few mistakes but that catch from Phillips was pretty special.
Tomorrow is India v Bangladesh. Too much of an early start for me. 9am.0 -

Yeah an Australia A type bowling attack and a top 3 if they go with Matt Short,Jake Fraser-McGurk and Cooper Connolly that lacks international experience. The best chance we'll have of beating them in years.1 -

Trying to think of another tournament, in any sport, where a country dictates where they are prepared to play. India aren't willing to travel to Pakistan so, instead of being kicked out, are going to play all their matches in Dubai. And we have the ludicrous situation where the venue for the final will be dependent on whether India are one of the finalists. Imagine a situation where India refused to come to England and if it were an England v India final we would have to play at a venue abroad and dictated to by India.
But that's the ICC (International Indian Cricket Council) for you.1 -
Meanwhile Bangladesh are 35-5 against India0
-
And Rohit drops the hat-trick ball off Axar to make it 35-6. It was, in terms of slip catches, a "dolly" too!0

After having Bangladesh at 35/5 they are now 162/5 makes me think India has turned it to a practice session so they can get even more use to the surface and conditions in Dubai.

I was so annoyed with our performance against India on our tour as I always want India to fail. In every tournament I want them to lose Including in this tournament. I would be happy if even the Aussies won it (as long as we beat them in the ashes)
Should hopefully see us against them during the summer. Gonna bring pie and mash with me to counter the stench of curry their fans always seem to bring with them.
Unfortunately they have started with a win, though their fielding as well as Bangladesh's was a bit suspect.0 -
India win by 6 wickets with 21 balls to spare. Gill becomes the fourth player in just two matches in the competition to score a ton which is something that we have consistently failed to do in recent matches. Time for at least one of our seven batsmen in the team to do so.1
-
We have that same issue with the balance in the side - three seamers, one full time spinner plus two part timers that will have to bowl at least ten overs between them. At least, with four keepers in the side, we won't be short of alternatives should Smith get injured again.1
-
Rickleton becomes centurion number five. The record number of centuries in a Champions Trophy is 10 and we have only had five innings in this tournament to date. SA are 199-2 off 35. Afghanistan's bowling has been poor and their fielding has been absolutely abysmal. Their Coach, Jonanathan Trott, will be tearing his hair out.

And having said that about the fielding, Rashid Khan demonstrates brilliant anticipation with a throw to match to a ball hit by Rickleton and runs the batter out for 103 (106)
201-3 (35.3)0 -
Gotta admit, this passed me by! Had no idea we we were playing Australia tomorrow!0
-
Got my girlfriend's stepdad's niece's wedding tomorrow in Nottingham. Absolutely fuming as it means missing England & Charlton!0
-
SA finish on 315-60
-
South Africa beat Afghanistan by 107 runs which could be significant given that this is the "group of death" (with England and Australia the others in the group) and net run rate could, therefore, play a significant part in deciding who goes forward0
-
Australia win the toss and have elected to bowl. First task for the England batters will be to see the threat of Spencer Johnson and later that of Adam Zampa.0
