Are shirts normally reduced in price so early in the season?0
-
Supporters can take advantage of huge savings on Charlton's 2024/25 away shirt both in-store and online while stocks last.
Initially priced at £55, the adult shirt is now available for just £18, with the junior shirt just £15! The discount is also available on the purple away goalkeeper kit.

The fact that they (not just Castore but all kit manufacturers) happily produce far more shirts than are needed every season, knowing that a shedload of them will end up in the bargain bin at the end of the season, shows just how profitable football shirts are.
Don't know what the maths are now, but I remember reading, when people first started kicking up a fuss about shirt prices, that it cost about £5 to produce a shirt that was, at that time, selling for about £35. Probably sell costs less than a tenner to make each shirt and the purchase price has gone (further) through the roof.0 -

I don’t necessarily have an issue with the price of adult kits, they are astronomical at full price but if people want one they will pay it and if they don’t they won’t.However I do think they need to look at the price of the kids kits, my kids are under 5 and you are talking just under £100 just for shirts full price.
I now just wait for the sales and usually get myself and two kids a shirt each for under £20.1 -

On the door of the shop today and on a separate A4 poster at the back of the shop, the home shirt is still £27.50, even though it is actually selling for £18.2

I'll get her if it's the last thing i do. A family that's miserable together stays together!
Presented with the above mentioned purchase, my grandaughter looked suitably underwhelmed. On my enquiring "what's the matter with it?", without hesitation or comment she pointed at the badge.
The igmony of that one small but innocent guesture has caused me a deal of soul searching leading to resignation and the questioning of what I hold dear!4 -
Decided to cop one of the home shirts yesterday but only XXXXL left in store - I'm built like a coat hanger so had to pass. None up on the online shop now, reckon the Castore ship has sailed?1

I'm still waiting for the retro shirts that were promised. Guess that has fallen by the wayside.1

For anyone else interested, I emailed and they've said this season's shirts will be back up on the website later today once they've done a stock take.2

I've emailed the club asking what rough timelines they are working to for the retro shirts and if they can share any info on what retro shirts might be available.
If they reply I will post an update on here.
Cheers all.2 -

Ideally you'd want to be in a position like Ipswich Town who have a large range of retro stuff, but thats helped by the fact that Umbro make their current kit, and they also made their kits in the late 80s early 90s so have produced the retro range of those as well. Obviously Charlton dont have that.1 -

Cheers all."Retro shirts are currently in production, and are hopefully due in the end of March/beginning of April. I cannot say at the moment which shirts are being produced (I have been sworn to secrecy!), however there are 3 different ones being produced. Keep an eye out on the online store, as once they are available they will be made live there."
Cheers all.

Or maybe we can mix and match, with Llanera sponsoring a retro Quaser shirt...1 -
