  • Just watching the BBC highlights, not one team introduced so far that hasn’t made multiple changes, Newcastle 8 changes, Man City 10 changes and Leeds 10 changes etc etc.

I suspect today’s games had a lot of changes as well

The FA Cup is a joke now
In fairness those 3 teams do have bigger priorities.

City have a lot of injuries and have Real Madrid this week.
Newcastle had a league cup semi final 3 days before their game.
Leeds already have to play 46 league games and are obviously only interested in getting promotion.

If City go out of Europe, i'd expect them to put more focus on the FA Cup. Likewise Newcastle without European football can also put more focus on the cup moving forward.

Brighton charged £25 for their game against Chelsea yesterday and still had 6000 empty seats. For Brighton, aside from a "derby" against Palace, that's about the most attractive draw they could have got. But fans know their clubs don't really care about the cup anymore - why bother going to a game knowing that your team isn't desperate to win it and the manager probably sees it as an inconvenience.

And the less relevant it becomes, the more the media people desperately waffle on about the magic of the cup. It's a shame. Football has completely sold it's soul in this country.
    Agreed.

The FA have kicked shit out of their own gold-plated cup competition with the Premier League and all it's money.

And the Champions League further sticks the boot in.

I'm pretty sure most Premier League clubs and those seriously aspiring to get into the Premier League, wouldn't bat an eyelid if the FA Cup was removed from the calendar entirely.

Isn't the joke on Liverpool for being humbled by a team they thought they could coast past. Their exit doesn't devalue the competition for Plymouth fans. Top sides making wholesale changes is what makes it more  competitive now, giving hope to more teams, which I don't mind, although it's ironic that the holders are the ones responsible for devaluing it in the first place.

This is what winds me up the most. Klopp, Guardiola and all the others that have moaned so frequently about having too many games - it's always the domestic cup games that they moan about.

Never ever do they dare to moan about the absurd number of games in the Champions League and Europa League.

It's fine, at least 1 of them will be out.

Also Villa, Newcastle, Man City, Bournemouth and Forest all at home with winnable ties. Whoever gets through can get 1 of them away in the quarters.

I'll take that. Only one of them left to worry about in the QFs.
  • Would we have faced Burnley had we beaten Preston, and then Wycombe?
  • 5th round draw.

    Preston v Burnley
    Aston Villa v Cardiff
    Doncaster or Palace v Millwall
    Man Utd v Fulham
    Newcastle v Brighton
    Bournemouth v Wolves
    Man City v Plymouth
    Exeter or Forest v Ipswich.

I have a sneaky feeling that if they do win tonight, there is a fair chance south London won’t be theirs for a few hours before and after that game.

Even after we've been knocked out, we still manage to get the dullest draws.
  • I imagine the Met Police are not very happy about potential of Palshit vs Smallwall in next round 😂

Away at City is the tie I would have loved in the 3rd round.

An excellent tie for Villa, United guaranteed to be on TV again.

The last time we played over there they got an escort from their own pub to the ground. And I don’t think it was for OUR protection 😁

Should they progress after tonight, the CPFC artistic banner society have a planned meeting this coming Friday evening.

Our one would of been Scotty Parker making a trip home (with Jonjo and Cullen tagging along)

Millwall win please. Whatever the rivalry with Millwall at least they’re a proper club.
Palace though. They will be unbearable if they do well.

If they win the game they’ve got a much better chance of going on to win the cup. We’ll probably go out in the quarters or semis. Surely you’ll all be behind the lions?

Yep, for the reasons you've stated. Don't be too flattered by our support though. It's basically the footballing version of this quandary:

"If you were 2 inches in your mom, and your dad was 2 inches in you. Would you go forward to get your dad out of you or go backward to get out of your mom?"

    WTF?
Was a question that went round twitter a while back, not my own invention!
