Another controversy from the lack of technology, did that Newcastle shot cross the line?

I don't think so. The linesman was not in line and it was so marginal I don't think he could have done any more than guess. Sadly Newcastle have just got a 2nd.

Impossible to tell, but my guess is no. But I dislike Birmingham intensely so I don't care.

Don't know what it costs but Championship clubs should have goal line technology and if available should be used for all games.

It’s switched on at all Premier League and Championship grounds for FA Cup matches. The ongoing issue is whether you can roll it out to league 1 & 2 clubs with the associated costs of infrastructure and floodlighting

That Osula is going to be some player. At the moment he's in danger of selling himself a dummy or two with those step overs but the raw talent is there for sure.

Wouldn't they have had it last season anyway? Or do they switch it off in L1?

Not read all the previous comments, but how on earth did no one spot the blatant offside(s) for the Man U 'goal'? The assistant on the far side of the camera was in the perfect position. It was from a free kick so it wasn't that they weren't keeping up with play. Absolutely shocking!

Probably thought Man Utd were defending the free kick.

I want a season of no VAR in the Premier League just to see how many times fuck ups like this aren’t caught. Reckon we’d have it back within 12 months.

There's a reason why there is DRS (Cricket) Hawk eye (tennis) TMO (Rugby) ect at the elite end of these sports and that is despite the pregnant pause and the premature exhilaration, you have a higher percentage of reaching correct decisions with VAR than Refs and Ass refs who can be unsighted with the number of bodies in their eyeline. Doesn't affect CAFC and probably never will our lowly status.

Does it slow football and all these sports down ? of course but Leicester were robbed at the death by the Maguire 'goal' and if you have no problem with that then fine.
I have no problem with that. I have no problem with the dodgy handball free kick against Fulham (?) years ago. I have no problem with the Frank Lampard shot against Germany that bounced a yard over the line and play carried on. No one dies (South America excepted).

    Fair enough Herr Sporadic.

Fantastic FA cup tie between 9 of Newcastle's reserve players + Big Dan and Bruno and the best team in League 1.
Desmond so far and I have said my piece yesterday about the mistakes if you don't have VAR or the magic watch.
The ball went out of shape 🏈 when the camera tried to show if the ball was over the line.

    * I had frozen the screen when on cooking duties and I had it on X2 when back and the ball for Birmingham's 2nd travelled at the speed of light !

    Some old fashioned dirty tackles from the Brum;
No where near the ball in some cases.

It's a shame that our game against Birmingham isn't on Tuesday because I can't help thinking that some of their side will be somewhat "leggy" after this

A blow for Chelsea to exit. With a Champions League place by no means certain, I'm not sure winning the Conference League would constitute a successful season.

Watching Liverpool game and was pleased to see Joe Gomez back playing and captain but went off injured after 8 minutes. I hope it is not serious and he will be back soon

Looks like he's a lot of weight round the face quickly, hope it's a crash diet and he's not ill or anything.
