One of the reasons why I was so annoyed about the result against a beatable Preston side was that it meant that was the end of our season.

We would of met a Wycombe team we have already beaten and possibly we would of gone go on a nice little cup run.

Another result like yesterday's at Rotherham is showing us that this team has not improved from last years mid table wonders.
    Still always next year.

I’d say we have improved a bit since last year. But since last year was the worst since the 1641/42 season or whatever it’s a pretty low bar. This season has still been completely unacceptable even if it is technically better than last year.
So it can be said Charlie and chums term so far has been a big failure.
I would say the first 1.5 years have not quite been a golden age of unbridled success.

Just turned the game on. It doesn't look like I missed anything in the first 40 minutes!

    Man Utd are shit
  • What a brilliant goal line clearance from Leicester, the Defender deserves to celebrate that like an actual goal

Shocking from the Officials to not be able to spot Maguire offside there, was almost a whole player beyond their last man.

If only we had VAR in this Sport!!
  • Awful, awful game.

    Agreed.

So often you get VAR trying to see if a player was offset by a toenail, but that was clearcut.

Very pleased for the Majority of CL who hate VAR.
Welcome to the reality of the clear off side goal that was missed by the Ref and Assistance.
2-1 and Garnacho changed the tempo and momentum when he came on the left side with his pace and going past his defender.

Offside goal from a free kick that wasn't in the 3rd minute of injury time. Rubbish.

Why was there no VAR? I don’t generally agree with VAR in cup competitions because it’s unfair on lower league teams who don’t have experience of VAR on a regular basis but if it’s between two PL who experience it week in, week out then why not?

I want a season of no VAR in the Premier League just to see how many times fuck ups like this aren’t caught. Reckon we’d have it back within 12 months.

It didn't look too hard for the ref's assistant to spot.

I hate VAR and think it should be abolished. It’s ruining football at the top level.

That was a shocking decision. Happy to be accused of “mental gymnastics” but I wonder how much linesmen are now reliant on something else making the decision for them and therefore more likely to risk not putting the flag up?

I’m pretty certain that this gets flagged 99% of the time at any level from EFL down to Bexley and District under 9’s down to WSL.

There's a reason why there is DRS (Cricket) Hawk eye (tennis) TMO (Rugby) ect at the elite end of these sports and that is despite the pregnant pause and the premature exhilaration, you have a higher percentage of reaching correct decisions with VAR than Refs and Ass refs who can be unsighted with the number of bodies in their eyeline. Doesn't affect CAFC and probably never will, with our lowly status.

Is VAR still struggling to reach a high standard and quicker decisions ?
Yes, but I want the threshold on offsides to not be  cigarette paper size as surely that is inline and NOT offside.

Does it slow football and all these sports down ? of course but Leicester were robbed at the death by the Maguire 'goal' and if you have no problem with that then fine.

I have no problem with that. I have no problem with the dodgy handball free kick against Fulham (?) years ago. I have no problem with the Frank Lampard shot against Germany that bounced a yard over the line and play carried on. No one dies (South America excepted).

Why the f are the BBC interviewing the O’s captain at halftime? He needs to be in with his team preparing for a huge second half.
They’d be told to piss off if they tried that with a big side. Patronising pricks.
