Sorry for anyone shafted by this.9.13 out and 3.44 back is currently £72 without railcard0
-
3 of us planning to go to this...and have airbnb booked etc...but always planned to make a weekend of it and catch up with my son (at uni in manchester) so am driving up Friday, home on Sunday...for anyone up there for the weekend...see you in the Track Brewery taproom (Piccadilly Trading Estate) after the game on Saturday (25 mins in an Uber from the ground...)..2

As long as it’s the same train company you can usually get earlier ones, just without the seat res.0
-
Cheapest I could see with trainsplit app and network card is 9.13 out (Euston) and 3.19 (slower 3 hr journey) back with a change at Crewe, for £51AFKABartram said:Sorry for anyone shafted by this.9.13 out and 3.44 back is currently £72 without railcard1 -
The downside of any playing success it seems.0

And if you've got Europa League on Thursday your next league game is Sunday.eaststandmike said:
Looking at some of the other threads on here it will be worse in two seasons time in the Premier League, and Europa League games are on a Thursday 😁blackpool72 said:3 pm kick offs on a Saturday are becoming a rarity.
Mind you Man utd and Liverpool etc have it worse.
Fuck Sky
Wowsers.
So much to look forward to ...0 -
The way football has become. Thanks SKY.
Dont care about the fans.0 -
Could be doubled up with a trip to Salford City who are at home to Crewe at 3pm if anyone wants to tick off a new ground.1

Why? Your sofa more comfortable at 12.30’ than 15.00?0

lucky my train gets to Stockport at 10:09. I feel sorry for all those fans who have booked later trains.
Bang out of order to move the kick-off time.

been caught out in the past so deliberately not booking trains until the TV games are confirmed.
I doubt this will be the last time we are on.I hate 12:30 kick offs kills the atmosphere.2 -
Been following EFL site since Saturday as that was the due date to announce, thought this would happen. On the 08:13 out and 15:44 with railcard for £45 doing a Split Save0
-
saturday will be a watered down experience - early kick off and on sky - its not right - we (the fans) need to take control of thisLewis Coaches said:The way football has become. Thanks SKY.

If you are a regular away traveler do you not still save money by booking way in advance, knowing you will take the odd hit if a couple of games are moved?0
-
No because trains are never that cheap in advance. It's not like swallowing a lost fiver or tenner, the advance tickets are still £40-50 each time.MrOneLung said:If you are a regular away traveler do you not still save money by booking way in advance, knowing you will take the odd hit if a couple of games are moved?5 -
Really shit for a lot of people that made a weekend of this in Manc and got certain trains to do so
But good for the 99% of fans that will watch on tv which is what SKY want unfortunately

I suppose you may just make it if you had a cab ordered and was first out.cafctom said:Could be doubled up with a trip to Salford City who are at home to Crewe at 3pm if anyone wants to tick off a new ground.
13 miles in 30 mins after exiting a ground with a decent crowd?
I'd say 99% chance you'd miss the start and more likely get to Salford's turnstiles for 3.30.

I always thought you went to the games.Callumcafc said:Ugh now I have to wake up at 6:15am to watch the game on my stream from bed!3 -
This is why I don't bother with trains anymore, between fixture time swaps, match cancellations and trains in general just being shit, it isn't worth the stress.
I'm so much more relaxed driving to games.

All these extra game on Sky, which inconvenience thousands upon thousands of fans, seem especially ridiculous because the viewing figures will be minuscule. Take this weekends match, how many people will actually be watching Charlton v Stevenage on Sky?1
-
Abandon the 3pm broadcast restriction?1

I do agree with your sentiment, but I would also add:blackpool72 said:3 pm kick offs on a Saturday are becoming a rarity.

Fuck Sky
Fuck Man Utd and Liverpool

Would worry about crowds for lower league teams. I think it’s had an impact on Tuesday night games already.valleynick66 said:Abandon the 3pm broadcast restriction?2 -
12.30 not ideal but one positive is that will get home at a decent time rather than close to midnight.0
-
That’s the whole reason we now have a ridiculous number of games on tv. It’s all set up to benefit the prem teams.roseandcrown said:

But it makes more sense for the Prem - they get paid an absolute fortune for having their matches broadcast and millions of people around the world tune in. Neither of that can be said for League One teams having their match moved to 12:30 on a Saturday.J BLOCK said:

It's a ridiculous arrangement between Sky and the EFL, shifting several games a weekend, for tiny viewing numbers at 12:30, especially when there's usually a TNT PL game at the same time.se9addick said:All these extra game on Sky, which inconvenience thousands upon thousands of fans, seem especially ridiculous because the viewing figures will be minuscule. And this weekend who will watch Charlton vs Stevenage against the alternatives?
Orient vs Man City on BBC1
Sunderland vs Watford
WBA vs Sheff Wed
Ours is a classic contractual obligation game, chosen when it looked like we were drifting into mid table nothingness. The other exciting L1 game is Stockport vs Barnsley.3 -
It's mad that the EFL get less notice than the PL. By the end of Feb PL teams will know KO times for all matches up to the end of April. Why don't EFL fans get the same level of respect?

I can safely say I’ve not watched one other league one match this season that hasn’t featured us and I don’t even want to watch us in this shithouse league
these wanky kick off times are a joke6
