Mascot Package

Has anyone done a mascot package in the last few years? Looking to do this for my youngest as was just wondering if you as the adult stay with them for most of the experience?

Mine was 2-3 years ago, but I think it’s still Bob who oversees so expect it the same. Yes you do, the only time not with you is when they do the pitch stuff.

Thank you that is really helpful.
  • It’s good for the kids and their experience, however I was disappointed with it. I think they’ve changed it now, but when my 2 did it they put the parents in the stand to the left of the tunnel. So as all the mascots came out we couldn’t see there reactions as the tunnel blocked out our view when it was pulled out.

Also it was during the Thomas Sand era….his wife was ‘running’ it - shambles, didn’t even take into consideration the kits sizes for the kids even though we sent size requirements prior to the day!

My boy is a mascot on Saturday just got a phone call from the club out of the blue a couple of weeks ago

A nice touch and free apart from the new kit that i had to buy and the additional 5 tickets for the lower west for the family so about £200 in total 😂

Not sure who is more excited me or him I’ve been practicing my teamtalk

My girl was mascot in the Exeter away game last season, coming out of the tunnel with Alfie May.  The bloke organising it took my phone and videoed her coming out of the tunnel.  Such a nice touch.  Exeter now my second club!

My Brother got my boy a mascot package a couple of years back. Absolutely brilliant, but a lil bit disorganised I have to say lol. Bob (I think?) who took the kids on the pitch for the training session pre match was a gent. One parent per child got to watch as they have a kick about, then you can stay pitchside to take photos when the teams come out. Odhran walked out with Sean Clare, who is still a hero of his lol, so much so that he was angry with me for booing him after that Edwards tackle ha! You can go into the lounge afterwards and see the the MOTM and there are a few ex addicts legends knocking around too. A great day 😄

Edit. You're not away from your lil one for very long and obviously sit with them, just down by the tunnel in the west lower. Didn't have any issues with the kit and met Tommy as his wife pre-match...they were very charming! The guy who organised it was great. Very friendly.

To be fair, phone in one hand and lino flag in the other (old habits etc), you didn’t stand a chance.

I know a few years back you used to be able to go in the dressing room with the kids but that got stopped after I spent an hour in their khazi eating Cadbury's.

My boy had a great day yesterday big thanks to Bob and Tracy for looking after the kids and to the players for being so friendly before the game

He walked out with Thierry Small who apart from having sweaty hands 😂 really looked after him, favourite player now REG has gone

Nathan Jones daughter was also a mascot so an added bonus of having a bit of a chat with him on the sideline and him joining in with the mascots kicking a ball about

Well done to the club 👏

My son was a mascot on his 8th birthday. He's 32 now and if he and his partner ever get married I'm going to treat him again as part of his stag.
  • My boys will be mascots at the Blackburn game on Saturday. They are very excited (as am I)!  Just wondered for those who have done this for their kids, is there anyway of getting a match video as a memento?  I will film them heading out onto the pitch with the players, but the club/TV cameras will be pitchside as the mascots come out so will have a better view (as opposed to our view side on/from behind filming from the North West quadrant). Doesn't appear the club supply match footage, but wondering if it is available on Charlton TV and whether that can be downloaded??  Has anyone done this?  Would love to have front on footage to see the boys faces walking out on to the hallowed turf at The Valley!!

I got three "official" photos from the Millwall game but nothing video wise. Luckily on Sky though so got that recording.

Enjoy the day, it was great.
