Nowhere near as badly but still a yellow warning.AFKABartram said:I was awake from 3-6am in SE London due to the wind and rain. Didn’t think we were due to be impacted here.0 -

Very windy in Cheshire. Didn't sleep much last night and was expecting to get up to damage, but everything looks intact apart from swing chair over and a cover on a BBQ that I'm sure was last seen heading over Manchester!

The rain and trees were blowing horizontal for most of that, the number of times I got out of bed to look out the windows.AFKABartram said:I was awake from 3-6am in SE London due to the wind and rain. Didn’t think we were due to be impacted here.
Top tip, never have a bedroom with a gable roof. Think its the worst decision we made when we had our house rebuilt. Looks fab but practically, when it rains it sounds like there is a pneumatic drill on the bloody ceiling!0 -

Should've put your airpods in and listened to a rerun of last nights online fan meeting, you would've been asleep by 3.05am.AFKABartram said:I was awake from 3-6am in SE London due to the wind and rain. Didn’t think we were due to be impacted here.8 -

Not as bad as Velux windows - we've got quite a few and the rain crashes down on them. That's what kept me awake last night.

One good thing about living in an old house is that the walls are very thick and I couldn't hear a thing last night.
it was only when I stood outside that wind starting howling up my alley too.2 -

ah, it might be that then! We've got 4 of them in our room and 2 on the ensuite. Brilliant during the summer when its warm, not so in the winter!bobmunro said:JohnBoyUK said:

Internet just come back, it’s still blowing a hoolie but nowhere near what it was like last night. Scariest one I’ve ever witnessed. Thankfully all ok, just a loose roof tile and absolutely everything is covered in salt. Can’t see a thing out of the sunroom patio doors 😳3 -

We were lucky, just lost internet but that’s nothing.1 -
My BIL in Scotland has lost power, they were heading down to the local village where the school has it's own generator, however couldn't get there due to fallen trees on the road.0

Been up since 4am due to the wind in Halifax. I’ve had to get a train via Derby to get to Nottingham for a lads weekend.
Will be supping a nice cold pint within the next 30 minutes!2 -
@KBslittlesis, Hopefully the worst has passed and all are safe and well, so now you can start to clear up any damage, 🤞0

Yellow wind warning until 4pm but that’s nothing. Most of the fallen branches been collected but the loose tile can wait, thank you 🙏🏻eastterrace6168 said:@KBslittlesis, Hopefully the worst has passed and all are safe and well, so now you can start to clear up any damage, 🤞1 -

Lying in bed last night listening to the shipping forecast. I was amazed how many sea areas round Ireland were being forecast hurricane force winds, so glad to hear in from Lifers in affected areas in both Ireland and the UK that they are OK.
I hope those who have lost their electricity, internet, etc are reconnected soon.

Looks fab but practically, when it rains it sounds like there is a pneumatic drill on the bloody ceiling! It’s made me nosey (sorry!) did you go the whole hog and have a former house demolished to start afresh?I ask because I had a former boss who was an advocate of the self build thing and bought in Sussex a bungalow to demolish and start again to his own spec. He was adamant he would do it again if the situation cropped up in later life.1
