Chuks (p.61 - Released)

I know we have a tendency to overhype academy products but I think if he can start to score goals TC has a similar ceiling to Small. His crossing has improved so much, the runners just aren’t there to meet them. If he was playing in a team with more willing runners he’d have a high no of assists by nowLeuth said:
I've given this a like, but Small has the highest ceiling imoJ BLOCK said:Chuks is the best player in our team.2 -
I barely remember him apart from he was part of the Duchatelet network . I bet he didn't cost us millions.Fumbluff said:
I do remember Faye as being awful but ffs if he was worse than CHRISTOPHE LEPOINT then my memory must be worse than I thought…Bedsaddick said:Amdy Faye is THE worst player ever to play for us and look what he cost us - £2 Mil . Comparing him to Chuks is ridiculous . I know Chucks has massive injury problems but at least when he he does get a game he put's everything into it. When Amdy Faye played we might as well have had ten men on the pitch. I've never seen a player hide from the ball as he did. He stole a living1 -
Billy Clarke was decent enough wasn't he? But like Chuks just injured a lot.6

Faye is up there with Andy Gray in the 'expensive signings who absolutely fucked us' stakes, but I'd have Gray ahead actually, he was our big signing and he relegated us3
-
Didnt help with Gray that we signed him after replacing our main creative outlet
Great piece of business that was0 -

You mean the Andy Gray who's wife was quite ill at time? And if I remember he made himself available to play, so yeah, what a cnut, fucked us right over.
Pardew relegated us with his all in transfer approach and general shitness.15 -
john barnes missing - about as effective as hasslebank but even slower0

Sad personal circumstances but having made himself available he might have perhaps been something other than completely, transcendentally uselessCL_Phantom said:Leuth said:Faye is up there with Andy Gray in the 'expensive signings who absolutely fucked us' stakes, but I'd have Gray ahead actually, he was our big signing and he relegated us

Josh Parker!?!?arny23394 said:I messaged my mate about the worst transfer since 76 comment and we’ve come up with a list of players that we deem worse signings than Chuks. Huge apologies in advance but it’s astounding how much guff we’ve signed in the last 20 years let alone 50. Please absolutely nobody quote this post.
Man won us the playoff final single handed!

How depressing is that. We've all wasted a good chunk of our lives watching these losers over the years. Parker was atrocious.1

No way, he was one of our best players for the 15-20 mins he could manage a la chuks.NelsonsFU said:john barnes missing - about as effective as hasslebank but even slower2 -
I have always thought if (and I know ifs don't amount to much!) Chucks was injury free then he would easily be in the top 5 players in the league. Think he is a class player who can change games in an instant.
Will be a shame when he leaves but cant have such an injury prone player past his contract expiry.1 -
Edit out the list. It's easy.kafka said:

No chance. He played over 100 premier league games and has a load of caps for Senegal. He's like Roy Keane compared to some of the shit we've had since in league one.Bedsaddick said:Amdy Faye is THE worst player ever to play for us and look what he cost us - £2 Mil . If Chuks was injury free he’d be playing for a better team in a better division.king addick said:I have always thought if (and I know ifs don't amount to much!) Fully fit and injury free he's a top half championship player. Such a shame he's been reduced to just cameos.0 -
Am I misremembering / confusing players with injury / health issues but wasn’t there also talk of a possible heart issue that had (prior to his first arrival) been undetected?
Is that a consideration on his game time possibly still or am I completely wrong?0 -
Absolutely, I could imagine him playing a key role in a team getting promoted to the Prem (the Premier League itself might be a bit of a stretch even for a fit Chuks). It’s really heartbreaking to think how good a career he could have had.MarcusH26 said:se9addick said:

Honestly I think that was just speculation and I’ve heard about 5,000 different theories (some from people completely convinced they know what the issue is). In reality I don’t think his issues have ever really been properly disclosed so much/all of what you read here/on social media is just speculation.valleynick66 said:Am I misremembering / confusing players with injury / health issues but wasn’t there also talk of a possible heart issue that had (prior to his first arrival) been undetected?
Is that a consideration on his game time possibly still or am I completely wrong? The fact that a really important player has been frequently injured for a number of years and no one really knows (other than Chuks and some of the staff at the club presumably) what the problem(s) is is one of the strangest things about the whole situation.2 -
Think we don't realise sometimes that most of these players we sign do have injury issues. Lets face it if he didn't have the issues Chuks would be at Birmingham. If he did a good job, (Nathan) Jones would be at Southampton. The squad (this year) is pretty much thrown together of misfits and Injury prone players (with a few exceptions).SteveACS said:I would also point out, that however poor Chuks injury record is, he is not in the same league as the legend that is Corey Gibbs...
If his contract was up last year Chuks would be competing with Connor Wickham* for a contract not Danny Hylton.
*- who is still available as a free agent btw1 -
He never played for Senegal when he played for us and when he left us he played a total of 23 games for three teams and then retired. Newcastle knew exactly what they were doing when they sold him to us. His legs had gone and it was obvious to see. That was Dowie's fault.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
