He’s being picked because NJ really likes him as a player. He praised him A LOT at the end of last season and he’s played him a lot too. Can see some frustrations starting to form but there’s nothing more to it than him being an NJ type player5

I believe he was 20 thirty days ago.
Jones and McLaren select him and play him.
So brought through by nonentity Steve Avory at Charlton, but selected to play by guys who have managed England, ‘Boro, Stoke, Charlton, Luton, Twente, Derby, Southampton, Newcastle, Jamaica, QPR, Forest and Wolfsburg.
What do those guys know that the critics of Karoy amongst our support don’t know?2 -
It is frustrating when he gives the ball away a bit too often and indeed when a simple pass isn't weighted properly but anybody who watched him play at youth level would have been struck by his first touch passing game. It is harder to do this at first team level and teams will target him a bit but I am confident it will come good for him. I don't think it will take long and people have to factor in his age and get behind him a bit IMO. He still provides benefits to the team for his workrate while things slot into place.1

His distribution needs to improve but I am certain it will. I think his reading of the game, movement and closing down are all excellent.
He also plays forward and looks to make things happen, where some of our midfielders with better passing stats predominantly pass sideways and backwards for the simple option.3 -
Made a massive difference today with his aggression and just being willing to take a shot at goal12

Played well today - signs of last season's Anderson. Really pleased for him.7

I like him.3

Thought he was great at Preston also. Seems a lot more composed on the ball so hopefully growing in confidence7
-
Jones seems to manage him quite well since he's arrived and clearly likes Karoy.
Knows the right time when to take him out of the starting eleven (when his inexperience starts to show), and when to put him back into games once more.1 -
Was it going in far side without the deflection? Would've been a GOTS contender if so, lovely turn1
-
He is still v young and learning. Bags of talent and potential imo. (Sorry to the bloke behind me at The Valley who completely disagrees.)12

Happy for him gets pelters on here and other places but atleast runs his socks off and puts himself about, great skill to lean into the Bolton player turn and get the shot off.6
-
Never hides. Deserves his reward tonight.17

Kudos to him for turning it around and have to say well done to NJ for managing him well, getting the balance right of giving him chances and keeping the faith but knowing when to pull him out of the firing line too.3 -
I've been one of his biggest critics, over the moon the lad got the winner tonight.0

Excellent tonight but let’s be honest, he has been absolutely horrible this season and not great last year either. Fine as a reserve but I do not want him starting2
-
He is young and fully committed. Like him a lot. With his heart and passion the crowd should back him 100% every time he plays.5

Reminded me of that character win away at Derby last season, he does pop up in some fun moments

Is that going to stay his goal? Shot looked to be going wide.0
-
Looked like he was crossing to our players on the far side of the box to me.1
-
it was the perfect crap shot , this kid leaves it all out there , good on him2

Should be way more protected and brought in a lot slower than he has been, but he was the only one willing to press as Jones wanted early on and therefore he started more times than he should. He's now a squad rotation player and looks better for it3
-
Reminds me a little bit of Bradley Pritchard - not the most technical player in the squad but a terrific engine and runs all day, and will pop up with the odd goal here and there besides.
Might not be a 20 year old youth players dream to be a "super sub" type but if Jones manages him properly and he continues to develop that may well change.4 -

Anderson is what I would class as an instinct player. Does great when he doesn't have time to think about what he's going to do, but as soon as he gets a couple of seconds on the ball, he tends to over think it, probably seeing 3 options and gets caught between them. If he can sort this out he'll be a much better player8
