Limited updates but the only "first teamer" that made enough impact for an update was Dixon. Not a good look for Taylor and Edun especially

Mediocre display. As above Dixon the pick, Mitchell solid and Kanu worked hard.  Dodgy penalty, looked like we got the ball, given the direction it went.

They’re probably on their way out if we can agree a deal, and it’ll be purely for fitness for them if that’s the case.

The young players on the other hand are trying to prove they deserve a chance in the first team.

Sure but they also need to prove to new clubs they're up to match standard and willing to put in a shift even when it isn't the first team

Would be surprised if we saw Taylor or Edun make a first team appearance again. Doubt they'll be involved Saturday with an extended bench to choose from but I wouldn't mind having Dixon there.

Good to see Pat Casey fit and back scoring , wouldn't mind seeing him get a National League South loan somewhere

That’s the chance they take I guess, but I doubt they’d be signed (or not) based on their performance in an u21 game.

Neither are goalscorers or particularly attacking, so they could have played well without getting goals or assists.

Dixon set it up coming in from the left and beating at least two players.

Whar was annoying was their coach constantly giving Bees instructions, like pushing up to halfway despite playing against Dixon and Kanuu who they must of been aware of their pace.

Contrast, whoever was in our dugout was virtually silent.

Academy goalkeeper Tommy Reid has signed a new contract with the club.

Reid, who joined the Addicks’ academy ranks in September 2024, has put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2026.

Doesn't look like there's a stream tonight. Birmingham have streamed from their YouTube channel in the past, but there's no mention on their academy X account.

U21s are at home on Friday at 1pm so hopefully that one will have a stream.

Here’s how our U21s line-up in this evening’s Premier League Cup tie against Birmingham City: MacLorg; Hobden, Hunter (c), Laqeretabua; Mwamba, Huke, Kedwell, Wales, Fullah; Casey, Dixon Subs: Woodham, Tagoe, Safa, Reid, Valentine

Looks like 3-5-2 with Mwamba RWB and Fullah LWB. With Fullah, Huke and Wales all starting that’s 3 who are probably most comfortable in the 10 role.

Excellent reaction save from Will O'Sullivan to keep Charlton from grabbing the opener! Fantastic goalkeeping. 👏

We're upping the tempo here as George Wynne strikes into the side-netting after Frank Tattum narrowly misses with a lovely 25-yard hit.

47’ GOALLLLLLLLLL | KAHEIM THAT IS INCREDIBLE 👏

Kaheim Dixon lets fly from distance on the volley, lofting his strike over the keeper to add our second of the evening!

How has that stayed out? Romelle Donovan cuts inside and fires for the near post, but somehow the Charlton 'keeper pushes it wide. 😤
