Does anyone know how to close a thread yourself, or do you have to wait for the admins to do it?

    You can't. You can edit one of your own messages if it's less than a day old by clicking on the cogwheel at the right hand side, but anything older than that is the preserve of the mods. DM me if you need help on that @ross1
