Tom Lockyer been called up by Wales for the last set of Euro 2020 Qualifiers
Pick up his fifth yellow at Millwall and have his rest afterwards. We need to spread the suspensions
Ideally we won't lose any of them, but if we have to then 1 a game would be best, especially for the week after the break when we have a midweek game as well

The worst scenario is that this Saturday is a bit blood and thunder, and as a result all 3 players get booked and miss Cardiff, which is a very winnable game.

Possible replacement for (Lloyd) Jones if he goes?

Wages would be a real problem I would think

I wish him all the luck in the world with his comeback. The issue that he's got with people not talking about what happened to him though is that it happened twice, not once.
  • Two heart incidents and a dodgy ankle on a 30 year old who isn't exactly one of the world's great footballers. Seriously.

    No thanks
  • A fit Tom Lockyer would be an asset in this division but I think his medical history makes him a big risk for a club like ours. Definitely not for me.

Good luck to TL , although I feel we aren't the club for him,  possibly a little lower down the pyramid,  it amazes me players with ICD's come back to playing at all.

On a personal level and empathising, I would like to see him hang up his boots, go into coaching or tv work.

  • Really hope that he gets back playing... Must be hard on any Footballer when they're forced to quit what they enjoy doing on terms other than their own.

I can’t see him being on a big wedge due to the risk of signing him but I still wouldn’t want him back at Charlton .

A simple issue. Is any insurance company going to cover him as a professional footballer after 2 heart incidents? And if they do, what premium would they demand? And, I think, he'll struggle to pass a medical, when any club worth it's salt, would emphasise a cardio work up.

These are all difficulties that Tom will face in extending his career. It may not be so much of a problem if he stays at Luton, but pretty difficult to deal with if he changes club...

I assume any team that signs him will mitigate the risk posed by his health challenges through the contract as much as possible.

Can't say I rated him when he was with us and wasn't disappointed when he left.  Just not big enough for the hurly-burly of league 1 cloggers

Definitely not what we need right now even if Jones were to go.

Crickey, and you are in a position to recommend players to the club. He was a Trojan for us. I could fully understand why the Snake  called him Tom Blockyer.

    He’s left-footed, isn’t he?

Right I thought. Can’t see us bringing him back, don’t see the need another CB unless we pick up a bad injury or two.

Keep saying. If we didn’t need Famewo, we don’t need Lockyer (as a player, player/coach- would welcome him back).

Especially since Bree and Burke are in the side- Ramsey is now struggling to get minutes!

Only 30, so if he is able to play at anything like his previous levels of intensity,  should be a cracking player in L2.
