Jones will surely be preparing to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window, and he should consider raising the level of the team by bringing one or two Premier League youngsters to the club on a temporary basis.
Chelsea could be encouraged by the prospect of sending one of their young talents to SE7 based on the fact that it has worked for them in the past.*
Charlton will need to be ambitious if they want to suitably bolster their squad and turn their season around.
The Addicks have lacked enough quality and creativity from midfield in many of their games this season, and with the majority of their defeats having been settled by a one-goal margin.
I wasn't trying to talking about that particular player it is these points I feel Charlton should address in the next window.

Kellyman broke through into Aston Villa's first team last season at a time when they were absolutely flying in the champions league places.
Based on that i'd say he's probably a level above league one and if Chelsea do loan him it'll be to a promotion chasing championship side. It certainly isn't going to be a struggling league one team.
Varjund is only 17 I think so probably not what we need right now sadly. But at 6'4" he's certainly going to be a presence and has been somewhat prolific at youth level. The kind of player we would go for if we were forward thinking and had a bit of money to invest.
There was another Estonian I suggested in the summer called Egert Ounapuu - he's 19 but didn't have a great season in first team football after also being prolific in younger age groups too
Not sure if it's the standard of coaching that affects players moving in to men's football or if they are just a flat-track bully at youth level and that doesn't translate in men's football so they need to make adjustments to their games (which again points towards coaching being essential)

Probably more about our scouting and recruitment set up, but there’s a logic to not bringing in more teenagers on top of all the academy players we already have in the first team squad.

Agree that they are not what we need right now but if the owners are in it for the long term and our many football focussed SMT members are doing their jobs properly they should still be looking for cheap punts/jems of the future.

I've always been very anti loan players a bit like Jones. But after this start it is very clear that getting at least a couple of good loans is critical

Can't get excited over possible signings. We need to gut 75% of this squad and management team. No premier league loan signings will make a blind bit of difference until this is done.
Think with our inflated squad size it is definitely going to be a “need to move a few on” window rather than us strengthening with the 3 or 4 key players we probably need

I wonder if we might see some surprises from those leagues come in during the window.
Our season is probably over so that’s probably the right approach, although I’m sure it won’t be popular, but trying to make that many key signings is January is a recipe for disaster as we found last season
Other outs I'd expect Edun to be the only other potential one bar a couple of younger players like Mbick or Casey going on loan once fit.
