I'd have probably bothered to go to the game yesterday if he'd been playing for even thirty minutes. At least the club might get a small fraction of his wages back through extra gate revenue!
Although, bizarrely, the club actually actually benefit financially when season ticket holders like me pop over to Switzerland for a few hours on Saturday afternoon!
But, more importantly, he might just be the one that keeps us in the third tier on the last game of the season!
I think he's back to fitness now but will move on in January, either released or transferred. He was stopped by some fans in Floyd road yesterday about an hour after the match and seemed to politely refuse to answer when asked when he'll be back playing (I was passing by rushing for a train).
Even if he doesn't score, he creates chances for other players, directly from assists, or simply because of the fear he puts into defenders.

It shows how many points we have won in games he has completely missed, and where we would have finished if we extrapolated those points across a "Chuks-less" season (or part season for this yr).
Of course there will be other influencing factors but I for one would not be "binning him" in January as it seems clear that the last season and a half we have needed him to stay up.
Yes, his wages could be split to 2 other players but do we really want two more Allan Campbell's, or two more Ahadmes etc etc.
This season We have got 11 points from the 10 games he has missed. 21 points. 20th.
23/24 We got 27 points from the 29 games he missed. 43 points. 22nd
22/23 We have got 48 points from the 33 games he missed. 67 points. 10th (no change)
21/22 We got 42 points from the 37 games he missed (includes first half of season when he was at Birmingham so didn't play for us). 52 points. 17th.
The fact that so much is still being written about a forward that has found the net just 8 times in the league in 3 years back at the club demonstrates how desperate we, as supporters, have become for him to be our saviour. There's no point trying to send him on loan in January because he will either be injured and back with us or playing and influencing games again. The injuries aren't his fault but, for better or worse, even if he returns to the team and scores a dozen goals in the remaining half of the season, he and we then need to move on. It's just too big a risk because as we have found (with the likes of Leaburn) any one of our other strikers are likely to be out too at any given time leaving us with very few alternatives and no money to look elsewhere either. We simply cannot afford to make that same mistake again. what he does from then on elsewhere, assuming that he does want to and can find another club that is, should not concern us.

Agree. The fact that it’s been so bad for so long and his little cameos, (some effective, some not), have been a go to for us and 5 managers over a 3 year period says it all really. We’ve been that bad, that we’ve convinced ourselves the above looks good
