KingKinsella said:Seen the very brief highlights of the game after my post above.Got to say that his contribution in build up play was excellent and awareness of space in the penalty area ...that of seasoned pro with an instinct for goals. He does look like he carries abit more weight but still has movement
So the question is would LT offer more to CAFC than Danny Hylton?
The answer is as plain as the goals scored tally.
Scoham- love that clip!
Well done him. Bossing it at the bottom of L2 after failing at 2x L1 clubs last season.8 -

Cambridge- started scoring but unluckily sent off for a 50/50 incident. I expect you'll mock me but then I bet you won't bother to watch it. Cambridge fans took against him for that. Irrational (but due to the pressure of league position)
Colchester- fitter and scoring, good build up play in a side that started the season on the poorer end of the scale. He does look like he's carrying abit more weight. But look at his last goal -sat the defender on his backside before scoring.Class.
It comes down to this- if you want a rat catcher -why not get the best you can afford?
Still waiting to hear/see what Hylton offers.

Don't want him back as a coach, so for that reason Danny Hylton offers more (they are only a year apart age wise).2 -
Taylor is for now a league 2 striker. He will never play at a higher level again. Only going lower from here on in. Maybe he can join that other waste of space Bonne next season in the Conference.4

Not mock you, no. But L Taylor has one less goal than Gilbey and one more than Stockley in L2 and you wouldn't want either of those back so I struggle with the desire to bring Taylor back. Cheek at Bromley has 2 more goals, a similar goals per minute ratio, players for a weeker team and is a big lad and a bit of a shit house. He isn't good enough for L1 either.6 - Sponsored links:

Just to summarise:
Lyle Taylor left the junior school of Charlton Athletic to go to the big Senior school of Nottingham Forest. Not straight away but without saying goodbye and leaving the school bereft as they had no replacement for him.
32 goals in 63 games was exceptional and Lyle went from hero to zero and from Lyle Taylor baby to Lyle Taylor snake as well as Cuxx.
He was hardly every picked for his Forest school team as other big boys like the mature boy with the long beard Grabban were ahead of him. 7 in 57 app over the 3 years.
Lyle left the senior school to go a really bad Junior school in Birmingham with an old headmaster of Taylor's being there and he scored 5 in 14.
From there Taylor went to Wycombe Infants but couldn't settle and 0 in 7 was the result in the exams.
Cambridge next but not the university as no one would take that punt on him ! But the Infant school where he scored 3 in 14 in the exams.
Next, on to the reception class in Colchester where young 34 year old Taylor has pulled his socks up and has 5 in 11 and received a gold star.
To be continued when Lyle leaves to go back to nursery school...

Garrymanilow said:Also worth remembering that Hylton is there primarily because Jones owes him big time. Watching him coach TC through his goal against Chelsea u21s was very good to see. If that had been Taylor instead of telling him what run to make he would have been pointing out all the nearest available emergency exits

*-Not sure you can count it if he didn't make the PL squad.

I still miss him6

Had he just played to his contract, let alone the moral need to play beyond the original season, we certainly would have stayed up.
Had we done so, I'm sure he'd have been offered a new deal and scoring goals for us in the Championship, rather scrubbing around for gametime and in L2
