Surely Dixon (and Enslin) will be in the squad for tomorrow night?1

I'd be happy if they chipped in with 25-30 crosses a season.se9addick said:
Regardless, our wing backs should be chipping in with 25-30 goals a season.Covered End said:
Ha ha, a wing back is called a wing back because he plays on the wing and at the right or left back.Gisappointed said:So wing-back isn't midfield in your book? Admittedly in KJ sides it is 5-3-2 rather than 3-5-2, but that's just because he gets nosebleeds over hwl.
Midfield, is short for playing in the middle of the field.
It's not rocket science.6 -
Don’t be so sure. We have an U21 fixture against Bournemouth away tomorrow afternoon.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Surely Dixon (and Enslin) will be in the squad for tomorrow night?0 -
I'm sorry, but you have no idea if he can score goals in the first team. He could end up being 30 years old, and still not score in men's professional football in England.Gisappointed said:But enough of the semantics, our midfielders (or defenders) don't score goals, so why not give game time to a mercurial talent who can?
He looks quick, and talented, but so did Tamer Tuna, and whatever happened to him?1 -

Jones might not want to risk it. If we get knocked out of the cups what will he use to defend our next league defeatChris_from_Sidcup said:Surely Dixon (and Enslin) will be in the squad for tomorrow night?3 -
It will be interesting to see how seriously he takes it now it's knock out and against a team from our division. I think Enslin/Dixon might be on the bench with more fringe first teamers like Edun given a chance. Possibly Laqeretabua might fall into that fringe category tooNabySarr said:

Think a lot of people have ignored the fitness and physicality aspect of adjusting to league football. Don’t know what it was like at his Jamaican club but I’d imagine he had far less access to gym facilities and sports science knowledge that he has now. He’s got a lot of catching up to do, and there is a huge difference between U21 and first team football. He looked knackered after about half an hour tonight
That’s not a criticism of him at all, but just shows why we are easing him in. I’m not expecting him to have much league involvement until next season. The cynic in me thinks we played him once so we can now call off international break games if we want to6 -
Yeah he's in that unfortunate in between spot where his pace and talent will absolutely dominate against others his own age but older, stronger players with experience are a whole different kettle of fish.NabySarr said:Think a lot of people have ignored the fitness and physicality aspect of adjusting to league football. There is definitely potential but he will absolutely not be the "game changer" (yet) that some for.3 -

a very raw talent but some real potential there. What I liked about him was his initiative and lack of fear, he was not scared to run at people and linked up well with Leaburn at times. Certainly some good traits and potentially a player there.7

Was blowing out of his arse after 20 minutes. A work in progress3
-
To be fair I think that was always the plan, it’s just that we’re so rubbish that he’s been pushed into first team contention. It’s an indictment of the lack of creative quality in the squad that he’s anywhere near first team matches at this point.shirty5 said:Was blowing out of his arse after 20 minutes. He ain’t the answer1

He never should have been at this stage of his careerct_addick said:He ain’t the answer0 -
Not ready for 1st team football5

Oh come on, in the nicest way possible he was shit. He looked like he would struggle at Welling ffs.CAFCDAZ said:a very raw talent but some real potential there. The ideal game to get a look at him , a few nice touches but he's not ready yet. Few more months of training and playing U21s football will do him the world of good. Wouldn't mind a couple of 15 mins first team cameos but nothing more than that.3 -
Was only half watching but didn’t help that he had a CB youth players behind him and the play went down the left. He wasn’t given a chance to get into the game2

And up against a highly rated LB in Jack Currie , formly of AFC Wimbledon but currently on loan at Orient from Oxford. Good learning experience.2 -

He didn’t look like a professional athlete (rich coming from me, mind). Needs a lot of work.2

To be fair, after his 4 goal haul at Wingate, a lot of voices were calling on him as a starter for the next league game. So now we see he isn't ready yet.se9addick said:

Not a criticism of the lad - he may or may not work out but he needs patience and coaching. But in a bad year, expecting him to run into a struggling side and transform it was to put it kindly very optimistic.5 -
Was at the game.
Thought he worked hard and made a few good touches without really impacting.
He tracked back as well.
Can't judge him on tonight but he's not yet the game changer that some have tried to make out.
He's a kid and he needs time.15 -
but the museum were happy to pick up his signed training top.

Because he supposed to be playing and training with the U21 side.JustFloydRoad said:

I never thought he was ready for first team football.
He can terrorise Fisher Athletic and Wingate and Finchly and some of the other u21 sides because of his pace. But does not have the skill levels to deal with an established professional player, secondly not got the stamina for a 45 min game yet, let alone a 90+ min game.3 -
He’s just moved from Jamaica, last thing he needs is to be sent to non league. He’s needs to be nurtured by the clubJustFloydRoad said:

Sorry but he was crap, just like most of the rest of them. Got completely outpaced defensively a couple of times. No attacking threat. He is one for the future, not now.0

Throw Dixon on the scrap heap. It’s all about Enslin now.6
