And fuck off Jones. Most of those players out their were YOUR signings. Can't blame any else for this seasons failings.ForeverAddickted said:ForeverAddickted said:NJ: "We were really poor. We were nowhere near good enough on any area of the pitch." #cafc

I’m really not one to want constant managerial change - but ask yourself this; if Jones was sacked this week would anyone look back in a year and think ‘I really miss that brand of football’?7
-
As a fan of 66 years standing, I’ve heard plenty of bullshit from Charlton managers and chairmen.
However, Nathan Jones trumps any of his predecessors.
Personally, I want to see him gone as soon as possible.
In the short term, give the reins to Jason Pearce.4 -

I’ve been coming for 32 years, in case anyone was wondering.16

Golfie taking the positives out of tonight's game and everyone else in despair for a competition I thought no-one cared about.
What's going on? Not enough green shoots for a recovery finally realised maybe?0 -

Depends... there is a reluctance on here to admit that replacing a Manager could end up seeing us go backwards even moreValley11 said:I’m really not one to want constant managerial change - but ask yourself this; if Jones was sacked this week would anyone look back in a year and think ‘I really miss that brand of football’?
Replacing the Manager wont magically result in us going in the right direction, playing a better brand of Football.
We're at the point where the SMT need to be looking at doing a deal with Jones, so he can walk away - But equally we cant pretend that in 12-months time, we wont be looking back in a much worse off position than where we are now.1 -

Yeah it's not like me but I guess I'm all knackered out with the Belgium protests that I just dont see what difference they would do now. I hope I'm wrong. I still have the WAR banner in my loft but it's beeen usd as a tarp for the chooks......eastterrace6168 said:
Don't know Arsentat's, wasn't advocating them just predicting them, as we can all see we are on a very slippery slope with no end in sight...guess we are just accepting the inevitable without some sort of fight...🤷♂️Arsenetatters said:eastterrace6168 said:Tonight is an all time low for me, how much more can we take before the protests start, must be very near.
But what good would protests be? We spent years protesting to get Roland out, in very inventive and differrent ways, yet he's still 'here'. What good would protests do now?

They deserved that, and stops Jones using his stupid ‘good in the cup’ excuse.
I literally just cannot understand how this bloke was seen as someone who had the coaching ability to coach premiership players.1 -
Crap competition, surprised at the uproar to it. Made 9 changes too. Lose Saturday and this reaction is justified3
-
Just reflecting on my years of supporting Charlton.
My first game 1977 smashing Spurs @ the Valley!
Followed by many brilliant years home and away!
Charlton is our club please keep the faith!

Whether he's shite or not is probably a mute point, it's the style of play he's adopting and if he doesn't want to change that style of play then yes he should go.BigDiddy said:
So we agree NJ is shite and needs to go?Bailey said:
Not wishing to disturb your party but the whole reason to support any football club is to see them progress, from the youngsters through to the first team. If Derby, Oxford. Portsmouth and Ipswich, similar sized clubs had followed your mantra then they would be languishing where we are, they didn't and that's because the made progressive choices, there is enough in this squad to do a lot better and with a few correct additions and departures, give it a go, it's down to the manager that we are not doing that.Darty Valiant said:Reality check… we are no longer the sleeping giant who should be in a higher league. Those days are gone. Like many teams… that is well in the past. We are a crap mid table L1 team who think they are better than they are.We are where we deserve to be. We need to adjust our expectations are accept we are just a mid table ish L1 team…… We are not superior to Crawley or Orient etc. The old days of Prem, Div 1 are gone.0 -
Nope. Not sure why anyone would bother with that joke competition since the introduction of u21 teamscafctom said:

Only saw second half and the 15 he played before being subbed and the first half highlights (ahem) dis not convince me that he's the messiah. He's young, inexperienced, lightweight and should go on loan in January to a non-league club to build his understanding of the men's game.msomerton said:So did Dixon serlt the place on fire.

That could easily have passed as a league starting side apart from Edun Dixon and Josh L.
AMB and REG have featured heavily even if clearly the second choices.
Small, there's a argument he should be starting over Edwards and after tonight he should.
Leaburn is first name on the temsheet for many.
Potts, Docherty, Berry and Godden were all big summer Jones signings.
And we were completely outclassed and made to look second best by Leyton orient who made plenty of changes themselves. At home.
We play most of these players in the league and get similar results...8 -

If only we had a way of getting the view of someone connected to Stoke City FC on here ...Valley11 said:Would be interesting to know what Stoke fans think of Jones. Did he do the same thing there and stick rigidly to one dimensional hoofball?
He’s very much looking like a busted flush, which is massively disappointing. They had Pulis Ball for a decade so they considered Jones' direct style of play to be a breath of fresh air.6 -
I actually can't believe he said that, is he eating the mushrooms in his garden? they are probably more magic than he is.golfaddick said:

Not certain he has the professional fitness for that yet. But believe he will be decent professional in the future. He has good ballcontrol skills, needs to learn the other skills of the professional game in this country. The Prince-e-Paul said:
