Fourth goal reminded me of what Darren Bent used to do for us a lot.1

Might even score ELEVEN.Kinsella87 said:MarcusH26 said:4 very well taken goals there , I know it's against an Isthmian Prem side and he won't get that kind of time at League 1 level but I'd have him on the bench Saturday definitely.
Yea he has to be on the bench this Saturday, cannot see any reason at all why he shouldnt be...STRANGER THINGS have happened though!2 -
Yeah, I liked the fourth one. Got himself in behind with pace and little bit of strength, timing a run-off the shoulder of the defender, and then slotted cooly into the bottom corner. Maybe the most "routine" of the four but a really clean, technically sound, goal.stoneroses19 said:Fourth goal reminded me of what Darren Bent used to do for us a lot.

I'm looking forward to when we can see the two of them playing either side of Miles in a front 3. It'll be a bit raw, but potentially very potent.MarcusH26 said:Sage said:We get 9 subs on Saturday, Dixon will definitely make the bench. Whatever way you look at it, his first goal last night was absolutely class.
Don't think many sides would fancy facing 20 mins of TC and Dixon off the bench.3 -
That goal is superb technique and skill. The overhead kick is excellent improvisation and then two other neat finishes after absolutely roasting the centre back. This boy has got the X factor and the hungerSage said:We get 9 subs on Saturday, Dixon will definitely make the bench. Whatever way you look at it, his first goal last night was absolutely class.
We need to take a bit of time and let him get selected on merit because the current stodgy football isn't going to help but hopefully he continue to develop6 -

Honestly wouldn't mind starting that against Orient in the EFL Trophy. Would have to figure out how the midfield sets up behind them but that would be a good game to try it2 -
Don't worry - Jones will soon knock all this skill out of him and instead show him how to compete for balls fired at him from 60 yards away by Gillesphey.2

According to my sources no Dixon in the squad this weekend - but Allan Campbell will be lining up as a false 9.Kinsella87 said:MarcusH26 said:4 very well taken goals there , I know it's against an Isthmian Prem side and he won't get that kind of time at League 1 level but I'd have him on the bench Saturday definitely.

We'll have no more of these types of goals, pace, athleticism and skill at our club thank you very much.1

No, it's not that, it's just that he hasn't played for Luton yet. I think we have to loan him out to that lot first, then loan him back, that will satisfy Jones.killerandflash said:
But can he fight for 50 yard hoofs up the pitch? If not, he won't get in our first team...follett said:https://www.instagram.com/p/DC4FOoioKiH/?img_index=1&igsh=MXB1ZmY1Y2Z3Z3Jmag==Wow that first goal is something else0 -
At a minimum he has to be Tyreece's understudy for the rest of the season. They're both blessed with pace and unpredictability which are traits this god awful team is desperately short of.

I loved in his interview when he said he is waiting for his 1st team chance and when he gets it he will take it !!
the lad seems to have a level of determination that could come in handy.2 -
well at least no passport issues for Walsall 😉😆1
-
Rylah also has pace and skill and has done well at U21 level but has looked a fish out of water in the first team.
There were also five other goals last night, one from Enslin, who has already shown he can mix it with the first team.
Dixon clearly has something but give him time.3 -
He's quick, he's fast, and he's got pace

Aye, that too.0

So you are saying he clearly doesn’t fit in then with the first team 😉😆seth plum said:He's quick, he's fast, and he's got pace

I saw him play in a live game at Princes Park in an U21 game. Unfortunately we went down to 10 men early on when Mwamba was sent off.
The notion that stays with me was he was like a cat chasing a laser light! Alert, never giving up. and kind of non stop eagerness. I liked his style immediately, but he still has to progress into 'made it' territory. Lovely portfolio of goals from last night, but I suspect he did other stuff too.3 -
They called up Ravel Morrison (currently playing in the third division in the UAE) for the USA game, so he had a 15 hour trip to the US and was also an unused sub.valleynick66 said:
So they called him up to the squad knowing he couldn’t play. A relatively expensive / extravagant trip for the Jamaican FA given that report says he was an unused sub in the first leg.Scoham said:That’s the end of the Dixon passport conspiracy.

I think it was stolen when he was in this country, so he had a temporary one. That meant he could travel to Jamaica and play in Jamaica – he just couldn’t get the visa required for going to America.
“That was it. It was all innocent. It wasn’t a mix-up or anything – we knew that before he went. The issue was him going into the USA, they have very strict visa regulations and that was the problem with Kaheim.”
Same / similar issue for the other player involved as well I guess.
I doubt their FA are rich, so surely just save the flight money and go with 1 player less. Or if you need to make up numbers just call up a local player.0 -
I'd love to see a 433 with Campbell & Dixon either side of Leaburn with Godden as a 10 behind2

Far too open and adventurous for Jones, even if you swapped Godden for Allan Campbell.Pelling1993 said:I'd love to see a 433 with Campbell & Dixon either side of Leaburn with Godden as a 10 behind0 -
Can't wait to see him play at right back7

It feels like a no brainer to start him at Walsall. Maybe a front three of TC, Leaburn and Dixon. Then Berry as the advanced midfielder ( I don't think he is suspended for the cup). Surely that would be worth a look. League One and Two defences can be well organised but they tend not to like pace. It feels when we attack we rely to much on passing through teams and are most dangerous when we have additional options like TC offers. With that front three there would be a real variation of threat and I think if it does unsettle defences, it could help Berry too.
Of course it might not work how I have described but surely it is worth a go. And we don't lose any points if it doesn't work. It isn't as if we don't have to find a way to increase the attacking threat of the team. That ought to involve trying things like this.3 -
I think he’ll be on the bench and won’t get on. If he does it will be for a pointless length of time. Jones doesn’t like flair.0

We're almost in to December and i have no idea what our best midfield is.
Coventry
Taylor
Anderson
Docherty
Berry
A Campbell
Dixon
There are too many players with similar attributes. I'd like to see us try Taylor as the DM, without Coventry next to him. However, i have so little confidence in the rest of the midfield. Berry is good enough, he just doesn't have the quality around him for support. Looking at those six senior midfielders, there is no balance.
Anderson needs to go out on load in L2. He works hard, but he gives the ball away too easily. I feel like we're carrying him at the moment.
I have no idea what Allan Cambpell is or where Greg Docherty fits in.
So where do we go with what we have?1 -
