Ipswich pulled a blinder there. Stole a million quid off our owners.
A player who in 83 senior club appearances ,most at clubs he was loaned to he has scored 19 goals.

He has some of the attrbutes which is probably why we bought him but the sum off his parts is well short of what it needs to be. I think a good example of this sort of player is Pete the Pole. They can look good at a lower level or if they are allowed to play but they haven't got that certain something about them. I commented on this when I first saw him in pre season but hoped he wan't fully fit.0

Unfair to read too much into the first few years of his career, he’s only turned 24 this month. What’s more relevant is last season - how did he score double figures? Some penalties, but a lot from crosses. He doesn’t look good in front of goal for us, but not one can argue the service is good enough either.msomerton said:

You can say he’s not getting the service but it’s his all round attacking play which is more worrying. His positioning is way off, his hold up play is non existent and his first touch is terrible. That’s not even accounting for his finishing. Yeah, we probably didn’t pay £1m but it must’ve been at least £600,000. Criminal scouting.3

So one chance and he’s got to take it? Even Haaland misses chances, he did today, but he has numerous chances during a game and normally takes a couple of them. If Ahadme or any other of our strikers had four good chances in a game and fluffed the lot then fair enough criticize them but if they only get one chance it’s a bit rich to castigate them for missing it. I’d admit he’s been disappointing but I weigh that up against the chances that have been created for him and they are severely lacking. No, not what I'm saying. More like the opposite. In isolation it's a woeful miss, I'm sure we can all agree on that. And we can say he needs more service and more tap-in chances but that's not what he's been brought in to do. He's been brought in to play in a front 2, be the foil for the other player, get us in a position to create those chances and do the other side of the game. I think people are over egging his achievement last season. He scored 11 goals in 29 games. On the face of it, that's ok, especially given he was at a weak team.
Strip out the 3 penalties though and in the league he got 8 goals; 6 headers and 2 shots. It's not great. One of those headers was against our powder puff defence too.
When we bought him in the summer I went to see what the Cambridge fans thought and was worried to read they really weren't bothered and were amazed we had paid money for him.

I’m more disappointed by his hold up play, winning headers, linking up with team mates etc. He’s not at the level we needed, especially when Leaburn is still developing in those areas too.
