Should have bust a gut to get the contact he needed on that chance. Highlights the issue with him IMO.1

Give him time 🤣0

Ipswich pulled a blinder there. Stole a million quid off our owners.
A player who in 83 senior club appearances ,most at clubs he was loaned to he has scored 19 goals.

He has some of the attrbutes which is probably why we bought him but the sum off his parts is well short of what it needs to be. I think a good example of this sort of player is Pete the Pole. They can look good at a lower level or if they are allowed to play but they haven't got that certain something about them. I commented on this when I first saw him in pre season but hoped he wan't fully fit.0

Bad miss and not defending him, but the bigger problem is we rarely create chances of that quality.
Leaburn missed a great chance too.
We put huge pressure on our players to be very clinical every game, to get a result they need to take pretty much every good chance they get. Even the god that is Alfie May missed chances and had runs of games without scoring.
Clubs in the top 6 create more chances and those chances will be of better quality.

I think the club should bring in a new recruitment rule !!! Delete the telephone number for Ipswich and never ever ever sign any of their players6

all I’m interested in is what he’s done in a Charlton shirt and I’d rather have Paul benson back than this fraudulent footballer1 - Sponsored links:

Yeah we need to create more chances but he's been brought up to the target man/hold-up player, that's his main job, so it's not unfair to judge him on that aspect so far.3 -
Ahadme.,you and the rest of us over!1

He’s pony, another in the long long list of rubbish that’s been bought by this ownership group.3
-
You can say he’s not getting the service but it’s his all round attacking play which is more worrying. His positioning is way off, his hold up play is non existent and his first touch is terrible. That’s not even accounting for his finishing. Yeah, we probably didn’t pay £1m but it must’ve been at least £600,000. Criminal scouting.3

I think people are over egging his achievement last season. He scored 11 goals in 29 games. On the face of it, that's ok, especially given he was at a weak team.
Strip out the 3 penalties though and in the league he got 8 goals; 6 headers and 2 shots. It's not great. One of those headers was against our powder puff defence too.
When we bought him in the summer I went to see what the Cambridge fans thought and was worried to read they really weren't bothered and were amazed we had paid money for him.

I’m more disappointed by his hold up play, winning headers, linking up with team mates etc. He’s not at the level we needed, especially when Leaburn is still developing in those areas too.
