The EFL either need to scrap all football on international weekends, or force clubs to play if they haven't made a decision by a certain date.
I don't see a negative as the postponements mean you're playing midweek anyway.2 -

I would change the rules with League 1 and 2 clubs. At the start of the season clubs have to declare if they will play on international weekends (irrespective of how many players subsequently get called up). The league arrange fixtures on international weekends for clubs who have decided to play, the ones who opt out get fixtures against similar clubs in midweek and announced when all the seasons fixtures are announced8

I think that is what happens, but the certain date can’t be before squads are finalised (because you won’t know if you’ll be without players until that point) which necessarily can’t be until the weekend befores games as the nations won’t know which players are ruled out for injury.Croydon said:It works in our favour but calling a game off with 6 days to go is madness. I don’t think he was originally in the squad for the England Elite (u20’s team), but was called up today after injuries to players in the original squad. If Charlton had to confirm that next weekends match was definitely going ahead last week we would now be without Small for the game.More than anything I don’t know why we are having another international break, feels like we just had one and I don’t think anyone is particularly desperate for international matches at this time of year when the club season is in full swing.0 -

TAA gets injured, Rice and Grealish withdraw no doubt along with others, Carsley says replacements will come from U21s, so more holes to be filled as you cascade down the line. Hence another group assembled. Could not agree more about the Arthur Daley Motors Trophy, play it on international weekends all the time it's regionialsed, only have to have 5 of the 18 from the previous League game included, know from the outset when games are played. Be nice if Sky get their finger out and announce TV games for January too. Saw this coming1

I can understand why people are annoyed at a Saturday game being postponed but to be honest given our current form and theirs (they've scored 14 goals in the last week), it might well be a blessing it's called off.
Also i completely agree with the poster who suggested we should play the BSM Trophy games on a weekend.1 -
Given we are missing 9 players.. Would expect losing Anderson and Small would make the bench full of kids.. its the right choice whether we were top of the league or bottom .4

Interesting stat and is it because against Bolton who had played well at the valley in recent seasons and Birmingham, Jones set CAFC up to negate the attacking play of both teams.
It worked but we struggle to be anything other than bang average or poor for large periods of matches against other sides in this mediocre 3rd tier.

A postponment at this late stage is very unfair on fans, but totally understandable from our point of view, with three absent added to the injuries thats an entire team unavailable (numbers wise at least). The FA should compensate anyone out of pocket. They can afford it.1

It’s also unfair on fans to watch a game with two players missing due to call ups. The number of L1 and 2 games that are called off now is increasing. The above comments re the stupid cup on a Saturday is a good one. It might even increase attendances
i appreciate that not everyone can attend midweek games but unfortunately, there isn’t a solution that would make everyone happy!!1 -

Two weeks off from matches other than Bromley but I like to think he would required the players who are fit (leave it Sam !) to work mornings and afternoons to get some cohesion and team play going. Football isn't rocket science but it does need a plan that players can implement on match days.

No home league game till early December if I'm right, puts a lot of pressure on the those away games0
