I half jokingly said on the other thread that the 1,000th Valiant would be a former Luton player. I didn’t expect that it would essentially be a former football player.7

But he's a young lad, so give him time. One for the future, to go with our fast front foot attacking football.
In all honesty I think it is a real shame that a past-sell-by-date lower league player and mate of the manager has gone down in our history with this honour. Could almost get more worked up about it than half and half scarves.7 -

Congrats to Danny, thanks to Ali and all who have kept the flame burning.

Add the three others Jones wants plus some youth players and we could hit 1000 in the early games of the season, maybe in a cup game.1 -

Thanks to everyone involved with this list; past and present.
There is irony that the '1000' player is not an CAFC academy lad or a player at their peak but Danny Hilton, the forward coach who only got on at the end as Kanu, Aneke, Ahadme were injured.
35 year old Danny peaked in 2016/17 and 17/18 in League 2 with 21 goals from 39 apps in both seasons.
Sport, like life is all about the numbers.

Why get your knickers in a twist about this? If it was a yoof who came on and never player again then it would also be "shit", right? It's not like we had Zlatan, Messi or Ronaldo on the bench FFS!0

Anyway, it's Chelsea U21s tomorrow night, any likely lads for V1001? Given our injury issues, who's the right back in our U21s, as they're probably the most likely, assuming Nathan Assimwe isn't being recalled, and they've not already played in last years EFL Trophy?

the speed we are getting through them these days V2000 will come in 2035 when 58 year old Darren Purse finally makes his long awaited debut.

Can't imagine Jones wasn't aware of the milestone, so inexcusable that he picked Hylton in front of a now fit Ahadme (or fitter than Hylton), Dixon or Mbick, and then actually debuted him. Seems he is treating supporters with a lack of respect.7

With that game tonight, an u21 one on Friday and FA Cup it’ll be interesting to see which youngsters play in which match. Presumably Jones will take the FA Cup the most seriously, and the u21s may have a younger team than usual on Friday.0 -
Who cares.
I am glad somebody keeps a list for historical record.
It's a list.2 -
I think people are missing the point here. V1000 making his debut in an actual league game against an actual league team (and one we haven't played since the 80s) rather than against an under-21 side in a cup competition no-one cares about. I'll take that.5

Reid on the bench tonight is a possible 1001
Josh Laq is V9722 -
Enslin is 1001?0

Yep, had a quick squizz through previous pages, and he's not come on before.V1001
