Charlton Life Birth...
Can-addick
Posts: 691
I haven't seen a birth announcement in a while on here, so I don't know if they are still de rigeuer, but I still wanted to mention the birth of Can-Addick #2, a sister to Annika -- Isla Margaret Hill Brisbin, on April 7.
I'm reminded that Charlton Life is about the only place that doesn't gouge you for the privilege of telling the world your good news!! By the way, she's sleeping so can' post right now, but thinks that the idea of Peter Varney-led consortium is just the ticket to thank the current board for their service, allow them a suitably dignified cash-out, and tie a great past to a sure to be glorious future!

Thanks everyone...everyone is great and settling in. And, thanks to a tip from Henry, it looks like we'll be able to announce it again in the Blackpool program...very exciting!
I'm reminded again what a great community this board is...living over here, this is by far the best means of feeling connected with the club that I've found.0 -

Thanks.Went in the club shop for a babygrow or bib or something to fend off the West Ham relatives. But there is bugger all in the shop these days.
Going to watch the England game with my grandaughter tonight. Expect we'll both fall asleep through that one.0 -
not quite a Charlton Life birth, but my wife gave birth yesterday to a lovely baby boy......sadly he won't be a Charlton fan as she was a surrogate for good friends of ours who've been trying unsuccessfully for years (and he's West Ham).
Been a very long road - more so for them - but we've been involved in the process for near on 2 years now (lots of legal stuff etc) finally resulting in them getting the baby they've always wanted. An unbelievable thing for my wife to do (I've really not done much at all) and was amazing seeing our friends with the child they always wanted.
Didn't quite all go to plan yesterday as my wife had a homebirth (she's a midwife for those that don't know and her best friends delivered him) but her full labour lasted less than an hour and he was born in the bath at 8.48am - she was early contracting from about 5am and we thought we had hours given past experiences. Midwives only just made it and our friends turned up and he was here - they were totally shocked but elated that everyone was ok.
I was trying to get the other kids ready for school and blow up a birthing pool at the same time - didn't need that in the end.
Amazing experience to be part of and my wife has certainly given them the best gift they could ever wish for
Baby Zac weighed in at 8lb 1oz, wife is doing very well and we were all on the Bollinger by lunchtime yesterday.
My kids now have a new 'cousin' according to them, loved it.

What a fantastic thing to do. You and especially your wife are truly friends of the now proud mother and father for baby Zac. They should make baby Zac a honorable member of Charlton.1
