I think Jones is tasking him with a bit more attacking responsibility than he's done before (as he did with Dobson, so there's precedent), so I would put it down to him still adjusting somewhat to a new role. Think he was better yesterday than he was at Wigan where he was much more of a number 10. Berry being more advanced worked better, and I’m sure that will be the first choice midfield now.If we ever do go with Anderson and Docherty again like at Wigan I’d prefer Anderson to be most advanced2

I work with Doc's brother-in-law here in Perth. I checked in with him on this as I picked up on the same thing. Brother-in-law has confirmed that Doc's wife and son have moved down to Sarf London. The reference is to family (parents) coming down to the game.27

Is Ahadme any better than Connor Wickham?
Is Docherty any better than Albie Morgan?
Is Alan Campbell any better than Louis Watson?
Is Gillesphey any better than Terrell Thomas?
Is REG any better than Hector?
Honestly don’t think there is much difference in many of the above changes (some look much worse than what we had previously!)
We just go round and round recycling players that are not good enough to get us out of this league.4 -
I agree with most of what you say and the comparisons are valid. How about comparing Docherty or Campbell with Terry Taylor? Noticed Karoy more in his cameo than I noticed Docherty all game. The guy has been largely anonymous.4

He is a lot 'steadier' than expected.
L Jones is really playing like I expected our captain to do so...vocal, putting his head/foot in where it hurts, hunting for goals when near the opposition goal.
Coventry, Doherty and Campbell all look like they're made to play the exact same role. Playing both (the latter two) in an advanced position isn't really working, hence their basic decision-making and execution in the final third.0 -
