Getting mixed up with "Englishman in New York" by Sting, which does have the line "A legal Alien" in it...🤷‍♂️

its an experiment and a seemingly good one,  kaheim got 32 goals for his college team
Yeah, much better than the 23 scored by  League One's golden boot winner eh  🙄

Not sure what yo think of this. I thought we had moved away from signing non league players like Chris Dickson.
I think we all must've missed the bit where it says he was signed as a direct replacement for Alfie.

Ok scouting team. Pack up your notebooks. We're not signing anyone with potential anymore!

Ah. Like for like replacement for Alfie May. Hadn't realised. Yeah that doesn't look like a good choice. Is he like Chris Dickson then? Similar background and playing style? Oh dear, how disappointing.

Oh dear it seems whatever the club does won’t please some of our supporters !! This lad is young and apparently highly thought of yet the club get pellets from some 😂 nobody at any stage has suggested he is a replacement for Alfie yet once again the few just manipulate the story to suit. It may or may not work out but I’m pleased we are signing players like this that won’t have cost much but have the potential to develop

Just waiting for the "he's sh!t, can't believe we sold CBT and  replaced him with this" after he fails to score in his first 20 minute cameo.

And then we can complete the Dobson, May and CBT replacement hate gang.

Might treat myself to one of these in his honour

Can the bucket hat boys make a Jamaican coloured one?
The only problem with that is the would need a complete redesign as the bucket hats have three stripes on them and while they aren’t claiming they’re adidas, Jamaica do use adidas so there might be some questions asked
    Ask @cafc999 and @charltonnick

Feels like a Ronnie Schwartz/Omar Puso signing to me. I'd be surprised if he makes 20 appearances.

Those players you mention were well in to there 20s (Schwartz may have even been 30 when joining us), not sure how a 19-year old talent can have the same feeling.

We could do a bucket hat if the demand was there.
  • Personally I’d ignore the negative comments on Dixon. None of us know what the outcome will be but the club and other clubs have seen something over and above the norm and decided to go after a 19 year old full international from a long way away in the hope that it pays off. Hes been given a four year deal so I’d imagine that we’re very hopeful we’ll make a handsome return in two or three years or it could be it took something like that to entice him to choose us over the competition. If anyone can explain to me a single negative in this I’d be grateful because I can’t see one.

If it's not Bob Marley, 'Jolene' by Dolly Parton fits well.
  • A wild card and one for the future surely?
Anyway, welcome. Will be interested to observe his development.

If there is a financial risk in this signing it seems to me to be compensated by the recent dribs and drabs of the financial squeeze from non Gomez transfers we’re getting in.

Have we made any signings in the last decade which haven't been a financial risk ?

No, they all are. However the recent trickle of money in has been unexpected (probably) and so a punt on a cheat code like this seems to be a positive bit of enterprise that doesn’t constitute a step back.
I am hoping it is a clear two steps forward, and want to see him in the flesh in the U21 game next Tuesday if parking is free at the Valley.

Of course there’s a financial risk in signing Dixon but I’d expect his earnings are stepped up as he progresses and his value increases. No signs of him cutting it in English football then it’s probably a minimal risk. I’d still expect that he’s now earning considerably more than he was in Jamaica and good luck to him. I’m hoping he’ll succeed but not expecting it. 100% positive from the club on this.

I love to see positivity on CL after "shit" being frequently used as as an adjective, Verb or Noun on the various threads to describe Charlton performances or Charlton Players over the last ten years BUT suddenly Kaheim Dixon is the "new cheat code" and the attacking saviour of CAFC !
I wish the 19 year old Jamaican lad well but the comments are so OTT for a lad coming from the Carribbean and who hadn't been picked up by a Premier or Championship club in England or a European Premier league.

🤞That Dixon can blend into the match day squad and give the forward option of giving the team width even if from the bench when the wing backs are having an off days or we need to try a plan B.🤞
