    And played well vs Portsmouth. We’ll see plenty of Anderson and Kanu this season as they offer the energy, aggression and mobility needed for the pressing Jones expects from his players.

    I won’t be surprised if we look a better team with at least one of them in the starting 11. Berry, Coventry and Docherty looks the best midfield on paper but not necessarily the most balanced for what Jones is after.

    Still feels like our starting eleven needs a bit more quality (hopefully Godden and Berry will be the final touches). 

    Bench is strong which is a huge improvement on previous seasons. I know it's the first 11 from the last friendly but wonder how Kanu feels about a winger playing ahead of him in his natural position.

    Suggests he’ll have freedom to get forward. Scored 5 in the league when Hull won L1, so maybe Jones sees potential in him to better that.

    I would hope that Kanu feels like TC has earned it. Campbell is going to play as a striker for us and he trained all preseason with that in mind. They both scored against Gotzepe but TC got 2 against Dartford, Kanu a penalty, and then TC scored and assisted against Pompey. No-one scored more goals than Campbell in our presason and I'd hope what Kanu would take away is that he's going to have to be absolutely on top of his game if he wants to start, and use that as fuel.

    Probably really pleased for one of his mates, who 3 months ago looked like he could have been out on his ear
