I wasn’t able to submit a repeat insulin prescription for our holiday. Luckily our GP is a 5 minute walk away so was able to go in and the receptionist put a manual one through. Still have to wait until it shows on my NHS login but We don’t go until next Saturday so should hopefully be sorted by then.0

Last week, the BBC aired a documentary "Why Trains Crash" https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00215yx/why-why-trains-crash Unsurprisingly, aging signalling problems is a major cause. It identified (45min 58s to 49min 38s) a possible solution is replacing traditional signalling with an on-train virtual digital system which tracks the position of all trains at all times, and has the potential to increase the capacity of the system by allowing trains to run at optimum speed closer to the ones in front / behind.
Digital signalling is currently being trialled on London's Northern City Line, with the aim of extending the trial to the East Coast Main Line in 2025. It is all run from a control centre in York. Financially, there will be strong arguments for going down this route nationwide.
My concern is the chaos - and possible danger - of a glitch in the digital system either accidental (as with yesterday's problem) or malicious. Anyone on this forum with other thoughts / knowledge?0 -

I was allowed (surprisingly) to go to the Schoolboys and girls exhibition at Olympia with my big brother - probably about 1964. There was a static display (so I thought) of Cybermen behind a roped off area. Suddenly one of them came to life and stepped over the rope - I did a runner. It took about 20 minutes to find my brother afterwards.
I was badly affected by that Cyber attack - just as I am now - still waiting a blood test some 7 weeks later.
(This isn't me btw - they couldn't catch me!)

I just received this, I work as a Cyber Security Manager. Reading between the lines it looks like they were affected by ransomware or an attempt. The fact they are letting people know seems very much in line with what the ICO would expect with a data breach.Duck-Killer Brown said:Ooh dear….1 -
