lately Lincoln have had a succession of very good keepers, including Jensen and a couple of young loanees from WBA .. I still think that we need a quality keeper yet hope that Mannion (know zero about him) is that player
The thing that concerns me about Mannion, is that he was playing second fiddle to Dimitar Mitov as recently as 22/23, who isn't a particularly outstanding keeper.

Still quite concerned regarding the keepers, and wouldn't be happy with any of them starting first game of the season.
Agreed, but I would be absolutely astonished frankly if the season does actually start with any of them as first choice.
Millwall being quoted 500k for Jensen from Lincoln. I wonder if it's something we could match.

Seems a decent price for a keeper who has only just turned 25 and was the best keeper in the league last season. Will also be familiar playing with Mitchell, and of course, a part of Lincolns excellent defence.
500k would be a waste, good keeper or not. Numerous decent keepers available on a free.

Also why do we always believe the lowest numbers quoted for everyone else's signings and the highest number quoted for our signings? We do the same when we sell players, everyone else apparently sells them for millions but then we assume we've sold players for the lowest amounts, or decide that it all must be based on installments and add ons

After the Joe Gomez sale when we said undisclosed and Liverpool boosted how they only paid 3.5 million to get Joe with add ons.

  • 4 signings yesterday, 3 undisclosed, 1 a free transfer. Will undisclosed signings start to catch up now? Who are the best free agents still knocking about?

Crawley also joined the 7+ club. Who will be next, Peterborough and Lincoln are both on 6, could they make it 7 today?

The Maidstone born ex CAFC academy player is now 30 years old and has had a Journeyman career.
Joe's two finest moments in football were coming on as a Sub for Southend at Wembley in League 2 and scoring the goal that took the game to ET and he scored the 1st pen in the shootout which the Essex team won and signing a 3 year contract with Ipswich after a successful few seasons at Wimbledon where in 137apps he scored 47 goals.

Pigott left Wimbledon at the end of the 20/21 season  as he knew it was now or never to get a good contract and Ipswich came along.

Joe Pigott who comes from a really good family has made a decent living from being a pro footballer even those most of those 13 years have been a struggle to establish himself in the 1st team.

So our first home league game could be against a team with Penney, Watson, Pratley and Jaiyesimi in it.

Penney not played a single professional game since leaving us, clearly the boy needed a year out to recover from the emotional turmoil of that disaster of a loan spell

Charltonisation has been classified by the World Health Organisation as a long term disease...

Joe was genuinely a very good league1 player at one point, just before he moved to Ipswich, I then think that move was a bit too big for him and his form fell off.

I think had he moved elsewhere and given a bit more time, he maybe could have got to play for a championship side. I remember a fair few of us being quite keen to bring him back before Ipswich signed him.

Be a bit of a blow for Huddersfield, and seems a real snip for someone else.

Will certainly weaken them, which is good for us.

They don’t play with wingers anymore so he’s surplus to requirements and extra cash in the bank.
  • Cambridge have signed Striker Ryan Loft from Port Vale for an undisclosed fee. Garry Monk said he will provide a bit of extra space up top.

That last bit may or may not be true.

And yet somehow against all odds we will contrive to lose. Because Charlton.

I had a brief look at the Huddersfield forum a couple of weeks back when it looked like May was going there.

I was quite surprised to see a fair few people slagging him (Thomas) off hoping he left. Crap attitude apparently.

Has had a bit of a weird career there in general, burst onto the scene there after coming from Boreham Wood , then was loaned out to Blackburn for the second half of the 22/23 season. 4 goals 9 assists last season in a relegation season was actually his best return.

Probably someone that's struggled from Huddersfield's constant changing of managers and ownership but I had seen similar things to CEL about him having a bit of an attitude.

Jensen and Langstaff are very good signings for a top league 1/lower championship team. I'm not convinced they're much higher than that so I'm not sure how much ambition that shows Millwall as having
Along with Tanganga and hopefully Longman from Hull I think that shows a fair amount of ambition. At a mere £700k Langstaff is a gamble we can afford to take. And we have a good record of bringing in lower league strikers and turning them in to prolific championship forwards. Morison, Lee Gregory and Harris himself to name a few
