Wouldn't it be good if we didn't try to find a player to make a scapegoat before the season has started and supported the team as a whole.17

I thought Fraser gave an amusing combination of looking like he’d won a competition to play with professional players at some points and then combined that with some really classy moments including his assist. Was a really odd performance.Marriott110 said:Enjoyed today's game, was impressed by the new boys & could see how we want to play going forward which is pleasing considering it's just week 1 of pre season
Thought Fraser was good in his 45 minutes, and it may be a marriage of convenience with him, we need another 10 in this squad and it's unlikely he'll get a permanent move due to high wages, so if he can apply himself properly no reason he can't be a productive member of the squad
Still. As a game it was much more enjoyable than what followed it.1 -

To me he looked rusty, without looking I don't think he got a lot of minutes at hearts so he's barely played since November, there's a player there and has been effective in a midfield with Connor Coventry too at MK Dons so hopefully he can be up to scratch by the Wigan game0 -
Inane comments on this thread from moronic supporters who would not know a football if it struck them in the face.
Please dont starting praising Fraser.
We played an Isthmian league club full of trialists and suddenly we are world beaters..
Let's have a bit of realism.
Hylton has not scored for 2 years. Our type of player. No thanks, especially with his dubious past remarks.
We are at least 8 players short.
Desperately need a keeper , c/b, wide man and play maker.
The squad is already wesker than last season..44 -
After watching that rubbish it was a pleasure to watch England in a truly competitive elite match. Saka is a wonderful talent as is Foden and Palmer. We are lucky to have them.31

Yeah I've thought this for a while as well, however dont think they had much involvement over our 6-1 win over Dartford matecafcdave123 said:I reckon Steve Holland is the one running things and Nigel is just the face of it (I’m not sure Nigel realises it but Holland comes across like he’s behind everything)

Eh! A pre season friendly vs a quarter final for the Euros! A bit of an over reaction I would say.DaisyEdwards said:After watching that rubbish it was a pleasure to watch England in a truly competitive elite match. Saka is a wonderful talent as is Foden and Palmer. We are lucky to have them.1 -

Does AMB just lead into every situation that arises with his face? The kid seems to get some kind of traumatic head injury every five minutes. He’s had more concussions than clean sheets in his career and now he’s cracked his jaw. Someone needs to tell him to stop approaching goalkeeping like Ralph Wiggum going through a windowLouisMend said:9 -

This is how I saw it.limeygent said:Didn't think Fraser looked like a player who was trying to impress his manager.
He is good on the ball but he was not "aggressive" today and strolled around after the Dartford players.0 -
You know how it is. Give some people a microphone and you can't get them off the stage.cafcdave123 said:Wrong thread2 -
Bradley has got tons of poor reviews (posted elsewhere). Wiredu should be a priority but at CH we need a left footer. No idea who apart from moving Edwards inside.Oh Eddie Youds... said:Lots of good perfomances today. Especially in midfield. Fraser, Taylor & Berry all impressive.
Small very good & the main creative threat first half.
Campbell’s bulked up & looked a big threat.
Still worried about Gillesphey tho. More than a few wayward passes today and looked slow. 100% need another centre half. Would be v.happy with either Wiredu or Bradley.0 -

I watched and wasn’t really impressed by Fraser and Bishop, in the first half I thought Taylor was OK, very similar to Coventry.

Think it will take another couple of games to form a reasonable opinion on the new arrivals, I was pleased with Bishop in the first half, would like to see him with Berry who came on second half.
Edwards, Godden & Ahadme equipped themselves well and looked assured for their first appearance, shame we couldn't see a full half with Ahadme, who left the field early to be replaced by Hylton.
So a good run out but nothing more, stiffer tests lie ahead, but promising stuff anyway.2 -
I quoted the wrong Louis article. The one about Chuks says 'Goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer was also absent at Dartford after missing the end of last season following surgery on a cracked jaw but Jones confirmed he is now back in training'. I knew he'd missed the end of the season but I didn't realise he'd needed surgery. No idea how he did it but I imagine he tried to put up a garden shed with his face or something.Covered End said:

It really is too early to judge, especially on a minor pre season game before the big trip to Slovenia. Big as in it seems Nathan Jones sees it as significant, and with so many new players a decent away week is more important than usual.
Having said all that, my first impression is that Edwards will prove to be better than Purrington, and the Ramsey/Watson thing will be interesting to see how it develops.0 -

Maybe Jonesy can get one of these for AMB

He's going to start the season looking like a Mexican wrestler if his jaw needs protecting as well!Garrymanilow said:

dubious past remarks. Assuming you were anti bowyer then and turned away in disgust as Bauer scored to send bowyers team into the championship?DaisyEdwards said:Inane comments on this thread from moronic supporters who would not know a football if it struck them in the face.

Fraser was excellent in the pre season last year.RonnieMoore said:
Fraser was excellent finding space , great pass for the goal , Taylor first 45 mins very steady broke play up very well , then you see Coventry second half who was also very good running the mid allowing Berry to get forward .. looks very good I liked Bishop as well grew into the gameBraziliance said:Genuinely what's the verdict on Terry and Fraser then, look like they can play a part, or surplus to requirements?
Glad to see Campbell putting a couple past weak opposition, be good for his confidenceTrouble is, his level drops against decent opposition, particularly if they’re a bit physical.0 -
Any thoughts re Mannion?0

He was there. He looked nice in his new kit. He barely touched the ball.sillav nitram said:Any thoughts re Mannion?0 -
We could have had Captain Mainwaring in goal for all the saves Mannion had to make...1

Crusty, I agree but that will never happen as it appears that we need heroes and villains as if football is a panto; oh no we don't, oh yes we do. Where's the ball keeper ? It's behind you.
My first ever post on CL 10 years ago next week was why do fans/critics always need a scrapegoat ?

Good drink before the game and catch up with family/mates.
Kit looked nice
Ground is very good for the level Dartford are at
No idea how anyone can analyse our performance based on the obvious differences between the 2 squads5
