Chris Solly - joining our academy coaching staff says Cawley (p34)

Saw Sols at Allhallows around this time last month where I spoke to him and he said he had an offer on the table from Ebbsfleet for coaching but was hoping to have something else announced soon as he had a few things ongoing.
Said he believes we will have a good season under Jones.
Wish him well.

where has he gone?1

Coming in as coach according to Cawley.5

Wonder if that means he'll be joining Nathan Jones' coaching staff... Or whether he'll be working more with the U21s or U18s.
The latter would make sense alongside Jason Pearce.1 -
I'm a fan of that0

Rich has now edited his tweet. Says Academy, so will be working more with the U21's and U18's.4

Makes sense. Him and Pearcey embedding some proper club ethos into the youth players can only be a good thingDyerConsequences said:Rich has now edited his tweet. Says Academy, so will be working more with the U21's and U18's.8 -

It could also mean a younger age group?DyerConsequences said:Rich has now edited his tweet. Says Academy, so will be working more with the U21's and U18's.

It could. Just says Academy at the moment. Either way, good addition and can only help our youngsters.Scoham said:

Dont really know what happened when he left, but to me a club legend which nothing can tarnish, gave everything for the shirt.Great move for him if he comes back in some capacity,he can instill in the lads what an honour it is to play for this club.12

And I'm sure we wouldn't have had him back if the end of his career with us was all down to him.2
-
Still waiting for him to explain what happened... Didn't he say he would shed light on it.0

Is there anyone at the club, who'd have been involved in that saga now?Addick Addict said:And I'm sure we wouldn't have had him back if the end of his career with us was all down to him.1 -
That's good news, welcome back Sols!1
-
Bad news he's gonna tell our academy boys to jump ship when it matters most ;-)6

I loved being at Leyton Orient when Solly scored his first goal.3
-
Is he still 5 foot 3, and better than John Terry?0

Jason Pearce. I think he played in all those games on the run in and I'm sure he wouldn't want to be working with him if he Solly was totally at fault for the situation. Steve Avory, who would probably know him better than any other person at the club, would have been asked for character references too before the appointment I would have thought too.ForeverAddickted said:

Sometimes what happen in the past is best left there. I hope he has a future with CAFC it is where he belongs.

These new owners!, when are they gonna get their wallets out, fobbing us off with some old non-league coach, how is that gonna get us promoted, shame!, boo, etc

I was hoping there might be a player / coaching role available for Bonne.
Im sure he still has unfinished business.3 -
Honestly if 1) he's willing to come back and 2) Pearce is happy to work with him then I'd say it's time to move on and look forward not backwards.
He was a very good defender in his day and hopefully he can pass some of that onto the academy boys.1 -
very happy with this0
