    'Is he in eye-line?'

Yeah let's ignore that he's literally blocking the keeper from the ball next to him.

They aren't showing a replay because of how obvious it is or what?

We've already seen a replay of it, they showed it straight away

    Very harsh offside that.

All the VAR decisions this tournament have been resolved quickly until it’s our turn to manage it.

Thing is, if he'd dived for the ball, and collided with Dumfries, the Dutch would probably be shouting for a pen.

I know you support Arsenal, but why extend to France as well? Fucking ridiculous decision, keeper was never ever getting that

VAR hasn't really been too much of a talking point this tournament.

    Enter the English ref team!

Disgraceful decision. If it takes that long to decide, you go with the on field decision.

First VAR check to take too long to resolve and of course it’s when the officials are English.
    Maybe we’re the problem! 😂

    Could have gone either way.
  • How did that take so long to decide? He was a good yard offside in the centre of the goal.

That's really harsh. The bloke given offside is walking away from the keeper. No way was that being saved whether he was there or not.

No surprise that the first VAR decision which takes ages involves English officials and equally no shock that it's Stuart Attwell making the call.

The on field decision was offside…

To disallow the goal? That's what they decided.

On field decision before VAR was offside.
Ref gave the goal but Lino ruled it out. Then they went to VAR.

Thought you liked them sticking with the refs call?

He didn't play the ball though. Was he active, and affecting the French keeper, that's the decision to be made.

But they didnt really make a decision did they. They passed the buck. Anyway, not going to get into an argument with one of the disciples about it.

Of course he's active, he's standing in the the middle of the 6 yard box.

Pretty clear cut offside for me, but some of the posts on here show what a difficult decision they have some times, as clearly quite a few of us can't agree what was the right call.

I probably would’ve gone with goal myself but see why it was disallowed, and understand why the VAR didn’t overrule the on field decision

    The flag literally went up.

If there was no VAR the goal would've still been disallowed.

Yeah, but the linesman only raised his flag because he was in an offside position knowing full well that it would be checked. The linesman couldn't tell from there if he was interfering or not. It was a cop out.
  • Would've been better for us if the goal had been given as then France would likely end up group runners up and in the other half of the draw (assuming we win our group of course).

Not to mention if France lost to Poland, with Netherlands and Austria drawing, they'd go out of the Tournament.

At the moment, I’d say our chances of beating either of these teams is slim at best, so I’m not sure this result matters that much!
