    They didn't score from that corner though. They scored from the ensuing corner conceded when Not As Good As Ben Purrington (yet to unveil his true masterpiece) waved a foot at a ball going 10 yards wide

    It seems that if there is a footballing god and its a Real Madrid fan! So many goals against run of play or even mistakes gifting them goals. Maatson might be the result of an inexperienced player in a big game, but who would have bet on Neuer spilling a simple shot with only a few minutes to go in the semi. I vaguely recall McManaman getting an equaliser in the last minute of a game to go on and win the final, against Atletico I think.

    Lucky or blessed I'm not sure (OK I don't believe in gods) but hard ever to bet against them.

    Enough reason for wanting Real to win the trophy, at least they won the title the previous season.
