If you look beyond our league position for the time being, there really isn’t a better place for Kanu right now.
The strikers he will be learning from on a daily basis to add elements to his game, he won’t get that kind of direct experience anywhere else at this level.
Jones knows how to work with young players and develop them, then you’ve got Paul Hart now added to the mix. You won’t get that anywhere else at this level.
He is down to earth, humble, a hard working young man who knows where the goal is. That is always going to stand him in a good position.
He’s got the role model of May who has worked hard to get to this level and score the goals he does. He’s got the role model of Aneke coming through Arsenal academy and learning how to hold off defenders.
Every opportunity right now he is earning because since returning from Southend he looks stronger, looks mature, knows how to handle his body and the ball better. He looks ready. And yesterday his performance away at a good side looking to go up automatically this season was outstanding.
If we can keep Leaburn, sign Ladapo, the front 5 we currently have will be so, so strong in League One next season. We just have to ensure that is where we are playing come August. It’s got a lot of potential for Jones to build and I think Kanu is going to be a key part of that.28 -
What a lovely kid. Speaks well. Always looks smart. Smiles and has good manners. I like him.5

A lot of rough edges on Kanu, but that’s the best performance I’ve seen from him in our colours.
If he keeps improving, we’ve got proper player on our hands.0 -

No doubt the loan could only help further, but he showed promise before that and I’m sure he’d have offered more than Tedic had he stayed. He was already improving, rather than it being a transformational loan that was needed for him to make that step.

I think he has had a bit of bad luck in terms of the ball falling for him and could have got a few more by now. I am confident he will be a high scoring player for us and through his career. The trick as ever is going to be how long we will be able to keep him when the goals flow, as I'm sure they will.2

Despite his growth in the physical aspect of the game, I wouldn't overlook the confidence he would have gained from scoring 4 goals in the adult game.
It's the first time he will have realised he can translate the heavy goalscoring from the kids game to the professional level.6 -

Basically, he could well become very soon the type of player we can't buy. If we can keep him for long enough after that it will be like gold dust to us.2
-
If he scores today, he said it will be his 10th goal of the season (if you include the Southend loan spell) a good start to his first season in men’s football.1

Immense effort and determination from The lad today but I never fancied him with that earlier chance , needs to learn to stroke/strike the ball purer with some ping !0

Quickly becoming a favourite of mine. Love his attitude and workrate and is gaining confidence and looking like the player we all hoped he would be.5

It was still a fairly firm strike that just bounced once at a reasonable pace, with his left foot. It was by no means a scuffed strike.3

I've been watching Danu for a couple of years now and he excites me. That knack of finding the net is something sooooo hard to coach but it's natural with him.
He may not have the textbook technique but he has heart, desire, a bit of pace, he's growing in strength and he is VERY intelligent so someone like NJONES might be perfect for him if he can instill sufficient self-confidence.
I'm in contact with his Dad fairly regularly and he's excited to be at the club and working really hard on his physique and fitness.
Personally I think he's improving every game as he gets more familiar with the style14 -
He was unlucky not to score yesterday and has been a few times this season. I think that will change soon.1
-
Keep at it DK. Gonna be a fans favourite if we can keep him2

Thought his touch looked more assured v Portsmouth. Signs of progress and bodes well.3

Hold up play for Alfie’s first and his own goal was absolutely unreal, what a player!1

The list of admirers will continue to grow after that0

really starting to love this guy0

Still think I'm voting him over May as our POTS. A contrarian take perhaps but my god he's saved us4
-
Some excellent work from him. He's only going to get better with NJ coaching.0

I’ll be voting Kanu over May for player of the season. Feel like when we need May the most for the Appleton era in December/January era he didn’t deliver. My opinion really doesn’t matter for my two cents I’ll be voting for Kanu.1

Be great to see him reach 10 goals this season.
Shame can't find his header that hit the post as it looked a great leap (with a push from the CBs of course).0 -
His attitude and effort are second to none but I’m not convinced he’s quite there for a promotion push starter just yet
Real strong play and a slash at the ball that deflects kindly in to Alfie’s path for the first , Kanu even had his head in his hands after that but at least he has a go , you don’t buy a ticket you can’t win the lottery and his goal from Alfie’s pass was well taken eventually but was his second attempt at it cos he’d swiped and missed the first .
Hopefully he can keep on improving as he has pushed on loads this season1
