Our SMT have a problem working Monday to Saturday. You expect them to work on a Sunday and also say we got it wrong again.
😂😂😂😂😂😂0 -
This is a professional football club (hard to believe sometimes I know) but people will work 7 days a week if needed, especially for something as important as hiring/firing the manager.
If the Shrewsbury hierarchy and comms team are working today so will Charlton’s be.3 -

We just need to get rid now. Don’t rush into getting a new ‘manager’. Temporarily appoint from within or, preferably, get somebody like Chris Powell in to see out this season. With the players available he would get us playing nice football (or, at least get us to avoid relegation) and then decide what to do next. They could be doing their homework while Powelly keeps us in the division. I reckon Chris would be up for that. Not sure how available he is though but you get my drift.2

Good if he is gone.
It generally has not been the sacking of the managers in recent years that has been the problem, the problem has been the selection of one dreadful manager after another whom are frankly not worthy of managing our club on the whole.
The following should just never have been employed by us imo:
- Bob Peters
- Guy Luzin
- Karel Fraeye
- Russell Slade
- Ben Garner
- Dean Holden (albeit I think he is a wonderful chap who was hard done by)
- Michael Apples
The following should arguably have been given more time /ability to pick their own assistants etc imo
- Karl Robinson
- Johnnie Jackson
- Nigel Adkins
The following left of their own volition
- Jose Riga
- Lee Bowyer
The issue is, that even including the 3 I reckon could have been given more time... Out of 12 managers, none have really gone on to have any great success after leaving us.2 -
I’m not sure about that. We have made good signings. That shows intent.4

You would hope Andy Scott would have been monitoring who was available for at least the last few weeks, in case it didn't improve.0

That's as may be, but the team still needs to win, so maybe wait till full time eh...🤔0 -
Karl Robinson was given more than enough time and brought his own coach in, Lee Bowyer4

This the problem its easy for us all to say Appleton should go but they took 3 weeks musing of Appletons appointment and that was all they could come up with. I'd just appoint a bit of fire fighter until the end of the season make sure we don't get sucked in to relegation and spend the rest of the seasons getting the right man in ahead of preseason0

WTF is WhatsApp?28

All we can comment on is what we see on the pitch. How good a coach Appleton is, how quiet he is is irrelevant. Whether he has lost the dressing room or not is speculation unless we have information confirming it. What we are seeing on the pitch is pretty damning and I would say he is on borrowed time but if we go on a run from here, maybe we should feel differently. I accept it would need some run, which doesn't look likely, but that is fair I think.
The reason I think it is fair that despite disagreeing with some of Appleton's decisions personally, I also accept that prior to the signings we have made, the squad was pretty challenging without strikers. I can't call for his sacking because I disagree with some selections but I can call for it based on poor results. He now should be getting good results and whilst that is true for Saturday, I personally, am happy to see what happens in the next couple of games. I think something has to happen but as others have said a decision may already have been made. I am concerened that we will merely get another similar manager and the cycle continues but we should be strong enough to start winning games at this level regularly and I will want to see promotion form (not expecting promotion obviously but points per game) from here on in to support Appleton continuing as manager.0 -

Ok so if he were to go…who would we want?
my 3 would be
Eustace
Nathan Jones?
Michael Duff?
all three have something to prove and have had success prior to this season
Rowett - or does the Millwall connection make him a bad choice now?5 -
Other forum saying he’s gone as well0
