Cambridge have Lyle, Morro, Jordan Cousins and Suley Kalkai - sounds like a CAFC team from ages back. Now on same points as us.2

Ha ! Ha! Scores one makes one and sets up a sitter which is missed by a colleague. Just saying. We could have had him for free. He would have taught these youngsters thing about holding the ball up.About being a striker.
Just saying. We'll see by the end of the season. When he scores the winner against us ( and sends us down? I hope we're clear by then)

Do you mean a forward or someone who withdraws their labour?KingKinsella said:Ha ! Ha! Scores one makes one and sets up a sitter which is missed by a colleague. Just saying. We could have had him for free. He would have taught these youngsters thing about holding the ball up.About being a striker.

His performance for Cambridge was at least an 80

He has a particular set of skills, which are still lacking in our current squad. Particularly hold up play , but also every other aspect of striker's role, mainly strikers instinct, physicality, contribution to defensive duties, and one question mark is whether mobility/speed would have deteriorated in his long lay-off.. At the time, pre Xmas it wasn't clear if the current owners had /were prepared to spend money . This has changed in the last 2 weeks. He was available on a free so would have improved our squad in skills we are lacking. It's all changed now we may well buy a striker and Taylor is under contract at Cambridge. So a missed opportunity, but the owners are willing to burn some money (their money). I hope it works out well.iaitch said:

Fuck him, every other club has forgotten about him. Like others have pointed out, aside from the fact his character is questionable when the going gets tough and the thought of another contract is in his thick head, he will down tools, he has only had serious success playing for us for an 18 month spell. Hardly played for 3 years, I accept he was a decent player but a shithouse as a person

Sticks in the throat a little that someone who invokes the name of one of our greatest ever captains, a player who drove us on during some of our most successful years, has such a love-in for a toe rag who downed tools and couldn’t be arsed to put on a shirt when he was needed most 🤷🏻♂️KingKinsella said:

His highlights alone were worth that….. an he didn’t come on until the 57th minute. Like him or loath him, when he’s playing like that, he’s a bloody good forward.JamesSeed said:

He’s certainly a mood player. If he feels he’s adored he’ll play better.0

Im in the hate the bloke camp.
Failed miserably after his dream move to Forest. Failed again even more spectacularly at Wycombe . Hope for more of the same at Cambridge .15

Never understood any Charlton fan wishing Taylor good luck but that’s just my own view ( although probably shared by a majority).ElfsborgAddick said:

Cambridge vs Burton In the ascendency, the U’s orchestrated the best chance of the afternoon on the half an hour mark when Taylor was teed up from 12 yards out and introduced a venomous strike towards the palms of Crocombe, who showed strong reactions to palm it to safety.

I know we keep an eye on some ex-players but reporting that one had a shot is taking the piss47

 1. It a Lyle Taylor thread. If you don't want to read it...don't, find something else that wiil interest you.Chunes said:I know we keep an eye on some ex-players but reporting that one had a shot is taking the piss
 2. Some have made their minds up on this topic, and don't want any evidence to contradict their opinions.
Fine. Don't waste your time reading this. Some have a more open mind and are prepared to see how LT does. I say let's see at the end of the season, at the moment I think there is every chance that he will do well.
At the moment it's early days, and like Ladapo he's taking time to get bedded in, (but LT has scored). The quality of the service is poor in Cambridge team , as Harris says he doesn't care if it's ugly, he just wants results.
It's all academic now, but pre -Xmas we could have got LT for no signing on fee to another club. He has talents which none of current/fit players have shown.eg hold up play but can do all the rest as well.
We've signed Ladapo, who similarly is getting up to speed- and I hope he will be a great success- (but at what financial cost?). I think we missed a good opportunity pre-Xmas with LT. Lets see.14

Don’t care if he was free, could have played for nothing (ha,ha), still wouldn’t have wanted him back.KingKinsella said:

Sad how this century, football has become a haven for greedy, egoistic parasites. Not just many "professionals" but also many who own the clubs, or administer the game. Will be shuffling off this mortal pitch soon. Hope the likes of these folk get everything they deserve.3
