I don't like him, I mean I really don't like him, but not sure what he could've done differently realistically? Feel this one is on the players.2
-
For an experienced manager his game management is piss poor.
Get rid of this fraud before we waste a transfer window on him.5 -
I think he's an awful manager if that helps you, but what did you want him to do differently today, say after we'd gone 3-2 up?CAFCsayer said:
His tactics are shit, his subs are shit, the whole teams mental fragility is shit. What have you been watching?Talal said:I don't like him, I mean I really don't like him, but not sure what he could've done differently realistically? Feel this one is on the players.1 -
No... I'm asking what the new man will be able to do differently?Addick_8 said:
You seriously aren’t defending him?ForeverAddickted said:He had no one on the bench today to get fresh legs out there
Fraser got left on the bench, which probably doesn't bother anyone, the rest who got left on there were as the result of Childcare Vouchers being taken advantage of - What's the new man going to do the change that, if he's in the exact same scenario? What have you seen since he has been here that we are better at than what we was doing under Holden?Nothing, in fact, we are worse.
First Team players aren't being left off the bench in favour of Rylah and Casey are they?

The players have let ua down AGAIN!!
It's his job to coach out mistakes, know when to attack, when to be defensive, who will be better suited to X game etc.
If it was all down to the players then why bother with a manager at all.4 -
What? Its happening week after weekTalal said:I don't like him, I mean I really don't like him, but not sure what he could've done differently realistically? Feel this one is on the players.3 -
Defensive shape and off-the-ball pressing is all about coaching and training. More so than actual personnel.
Appleton has shown he's incapable of coaching that successfully.15 -
Rylah instead of Asiimwe perhaps? - Or Rylah for Kanu with his paceTalal said:

But we saw recently how green he looked.

He's not done well. But getting rid of him will NOT solve the problems (on its own.)
I'm not saying that he hasn't made mistakes and certainly not that think keeping him would be a good idea. But Duff, Bowyer etc, no-one else will turn this squad (as it stands) into a top 6 side.
The whole squad needs to be rebooted from the ground up.2 -

Plenty of managers would have addressed this after it's become almost a meme now. Even though we have a mentally weak set of players there must be things that can be worked on by competent managers and coaches to prevent its recurrance.1 -
Look. Successful league one managers have to work with tripe week after week..ForeverAddickted said:

All clubs suffer player wise like we do. The best players move on and you have to work with what you've got.
Appleton has shown me absolutely no indication that he is capable of that.
To that end he actually seems to be pissing players and fans off alike with his terrible attitude.6 -
I know, but it's often his terrible subs. Not sure what else he could do, Edun was defensively poor again and CBT injured. I want him gone but the players need to have a look at themselves too.carly burn said:

I’m guessing it’s because they’ve already sacked and paid one off. It’s an awful recordAddick_8 said:Would love to know what people are seeing to justify giving this guy a transfer window. Even more so after today - we just gave up 29 shots to Port Vale.1 Win in 10 (In League 1) with some dreadful performances and some people still think he deserves time.“Good on the grass” piss off0 -
i really don’t agree. This squad IS good enough.
The coaching and game management is awful. You don’t let this many late goals if it wasn’t.2 -
No point sacking him until we have someone decent and ready to go as a replacement. Hopefully the search for that replacement is now underway.1
-
These interviews from him are painful.1
-
The only reason this guy is still in the job is because they don't want to be seen sacking two managers in two transfer windows.14
-
The results, set up, positional play is down to coaching... Apples is to blame 110%. It's indefensible.
I'd rather have Pearce as an interim, and I'm in agreement with others here that I wouldn't give apples a transfer window.
He has to go, 7 goals in 7 games after 80 minutes is not a fluke for gawds sake.6 -

We should not be telling MA to walk, he should be honest with himself and say I have failed, and do the honourable thing and walk away from the clubs, instead he will stay and tell everyone he can turn it around, please go and stop sucking the life out of the club! For 50 years I support this club. MA is now leaving his mark as another failure!
Mugs like Scott and rest have ensured we are in a poor delapidated state to date
We the fans need part ownership as we could get rid of this type of ownership!
They have not come out and apologise and even given us a clue in what direction and how they are looking to achieve! They are answerable to all of us! We can vote with our feet, but we don't want see the club suffer and potentially be put into administration and the belgium twat will take every opportunity to sell his assets.
Thank you MA pls f**k off now🙏 🚶♂️

Since our premier days we have had some truly bad managers.
But Appleton is fast proving himself as the most mediocre and useless manager in our history.Over the past 15 years, Charlton have been graced with some really awful managers, but by comparison Karel Fraeye, Karl Robinson, Ben Garner and the rest all look world beaters compared to this clown.
Appleton just F**k Off, we don’t want you here.5 -
It’s not all about subs he can make, it’s everything else.ForeverAddickted said:

Guy is useless. The sooner he leaves the better.2
-
We won’t get promoted under this useless twonk so why wait just get rid now, go all out to get someone like Michael Duff, and recruit now for a proper push next season. In keeping Apples we are just wasting time and resources that could be better used elsewhere.3
-
Even if we were winning every game he is impossible to warm to. Dour and sulky.8
-
Then he got replaced by another bloke who won 2 in 14 and then also got sacked. Turns out the players might not have been very good.Jayajosh said:Was sacked by Blackpool for winning 1 game in 11. Sound familiar?

Can just see it now; sign all these players, Appleton continues to balls it up. Sack him in February and bring in Duff - who doesn’t want JCH, Bakinson and FioriniLargeAddick said:We won’t get promoted under this useless twonk so why wait just get rid now, go all out to get someone like Michael Duff, and recruit now for a proper push next season.
