There's definitely something not right with DRS at this WC. DRS for VDD's dismissal showed the ball missing and then put a second one up saying "Umpire's Call"

Do you know what the original umpire's decision was?

Of course, some conspiracy theorists might suggest that it is not in the competition's interests for South Africa to win because it probably means the rest of the Group games are dead rubbers. Fortunately, I'm not a conspiracy theorist.

SA at 206-5 are proving that they are a much better side setting than chasing

235-6. Get Markram soon and Pakistan are in with a real sniff.

Markram goes and SA now 7 down. 21 still required.

And Coetzee goes. Still 21 needed. Brain dead cricket from SA when all they needed was to milk singles especially from Markram

Brilliant caught and bowled by Rauf. Just one wicket to get and still 11 to win.

OMG. Rauf hits Shamsi on the pads with his final ball. Umpire gives it "not out". Last minute review by Babar and it's "Umpire's Call". 8 still needed.

SA win by one wicket with 14 balls left. Who said the Saffers are "bottle jobs"?
  • And finally, approximately a year into the competition, we had a close game with a tense finish.

Anyone who saw them an umpire's decision away from blowing 30-odd to win with 5 wickets in hand off a zillion overs?

Did you see the two versions of VDD's dismissal? Perhaps DRS in India isn't dodgy. Just useless.

The Saffers can't keep relying on winning the toss. If they don't learn from this and the Netherlands defeat they never will.

It's clearly the structure that is wrong and this has contributed to an extremely poor squad performance.
It doesn't have to be one or the other. It is both and any sensible and genuine person can see this.

Travis Head, back from injury, opened for Australia against NZ. And hit 109 off 67. Henry went for 44 off 3 overs and Australia scored 118-0 in the Power Play! Phillips, of all people, has picked up the wickets of Head, Warner and Smith.

    240-3 off 32

Oh and March is currently in. And Maxwell, holder of the fastest 100 in WC history, is still to come.

Australia have gone from 175-0 off the first 19 overs and 99-5 from the second 19 overs. Maxwell and Inglis in now so anything could happen but, with that start, the have to be slightly disappointed with where they are now given they have just the bowlers to come

    274-5 off 38.1

Carnage. Neesham goes for 27 in an over. Cummins is on 37 off 13

    387-6 off 48

Ravindra is an incredible talent. 100* off 77 balls and 390 runs (and counting) in the tournament

263-4 and at the same stage Australia were 264-3

Definitely , but arguably may not have played if Williamson was fit from the start !
  • Good finish that, shame about the result!

England have won the toss and have decided to bowl. Buttler says that this is based on a "feeling". Never let it be said that he isn't stubborn. Sharma says that he would have batted anyway.

    Both teams are unchanged.
