That Franco comment is very harsh. Bonne can hold up the ball and lay it off. He does try pretty hard and first time around with us scored some decent goals, which led to his QPR deal. Unfortunately he also missed some sitters in the Championship. He will score goals in Division 2 because he will get a bit more space and time. If he plays regularly for the Gills I think he'll score about 14/15 goals. We'll see.
If we are going to be fair, he didn't do too shabbily during his loan spell at Ipswich ......12 goals, was it, in half a season?

Full season, he played 43 games

Not sure why we are so annoyed at Bonne. £2m in the bank not too shabby for us.

The best thing about Bonne is the ability to say 'Bonne gone' and the £2m obviously.

The same money we have spunked in paying off at least 4 managers since.

@mendonca @JaShea99 @ross1 @paulsturgess your wish is my command... eventually. A faster response can be achieved by tagging me (or one of the other mods, but I'm probably the most nitpicky about thread titles) in the thread concerned, as the volume of traffic on the site means we may not see it otherwise.

Thanks and good point! We can't expect you to scan each post seeking a thread title change. Thanks for doing so. Seeing Bonne and Charlton in the same sentence does not kickstart a pretty day.

Yes, the first half. How many did he get for them
in the second half of that season, was it 2?

In the same number of games (roughly), Ryan innis has 6 goals

Yep, 10 goals in his first 13 matches, eh?
    Impressive.

Couldn't have happened by accident though.
Ipswich set up to make the most out of his limitations and the goals flowed.

Soon after Ipswich lost their way with key player injuries and loss of form, results were poor and the manager was sacked before Christmas.
The new manager set up the team differently, signed new players and sold Scott Fraser to Charlton; many of Bonne's appearances after that were from the bench - just 2 goals.

Statistics tell you only one thing; context tells you the whole story.

BTW I'm no big MacCauley Bonne fan, but try not to be as jaundiced as some.

  • He has got to do a speed awareness course after his crash
  • He has got to do a speed awareness course after his crash
If it matches his awareness of the offside rule he'd have been better off just taking the points.
  • Scored his first goal for Gills at the weekend too - he's played 11 games.
  • Sounds like he’s off to a flyer . That’s him done for the season.
  • Which will come first a second goal or a second car crash?
  • I watched some of the highlights. He seems to have lost a yard of pace ( if that was possible).

May help him stay on side.

Been told to slow down after the accident.

Looking more and more like another Pritchard - a quick rise from non-league, a purple patch in the Championship before dropping down the leagues.

Failed to turn up for his Speed Awareness Course allegedly but then he's was regularly failing to turn up for us!

He is a dreadful footballer.  Bringing him back to Charlton last season was a woefully inept decision.  He is not even likable.  Poor touch, poor vision, misses sitters, can't pass.  Just a terrible footballer

They say success leaves clues. What about shiteness...

    Skidmarks in his case.
