Simply wanted to add best wishes to both of you, and any other Addicks battling cancer.
Be strong people - we want you back among us!
  • Had my operation a week ago. Unfortunately I got an infection - sepsis. Caused my right lung to collapse. Put in nasal gastric tube to drain the stomach.
finally taken off all oxygen, drips and tubes yesterday. Recovery now starts. Not a good few days.
    That's awful, HA !

Hope things are onwards & upwards from now on .

Keep battling HA and hope you are home soon
  • Please excuse me popping in. My brother has Bowel Cancer and Is going through treatment. He has previously battled Lymphoma twice,  it's pretty shit to be honest
What I struggle with is guilt. I am fit, healthy and enjoy an active life. We have had wonderful holidays and are planning many more.
Yet, I feel guilty that he can't and it hurts

That’s a tough read @Hertsseasider. But imagine your brother more than anyone would not want you to feel guilty. In the end it is the luck of life’s draw. Very best wishes to him and all the brave Addicks on here battling this horrible disease.

Sincere best wishes to all fellow Addicks who are having to deal with this bastard disease. Some I have had the great good fortune to meet and others I'm yet to meet - but this frustrating, irritating, hilarious, educating, wonderful, caring Forum is a special place, not least in giving support and encouragement to all those fellow Lifers in need. I know how much that means from a deeply personal perspective.

Long Live Charlton Life - and cancer can f*ck right off.

Don’t feel guilty mate. If anything, you should be more determined to make the most of life while you can, you never know what’s round the corner.

I was privileged to be invited to share a table with Mrs FF and her friends which included John, such a lovely man and myself and Lynne’s thoughts are with him as they are with you all.

Wasn’t sure whether to post this but wanted to try and inject some positivity … diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2014 and received all clear four years ago … had follow up colonoscopy last week and still all clear.

    It does not always win.
Great news mate.....I intend to do the same. Its an awful disease, and it's a battle,  but one, like you I'm going to do my best to defeat!

I'd like to give a call out for positive vibes, support & love to be sent to our @JohnfromNorfolk who is going through very difficult times at present.

We were privileged to welcome John & his dear wife, Jane, to our table in Crossbars prior to Saturday's match, before Tracey whisked them away to watch the warm up pitchside, and meet the gaffer and some of our lads.

I know that John was somewhat overwhelmed by the manner in which his Special Day was marked but it's what we, at our extraordinary club, do best....look after our own.

I know he & Jane would welcome support from fellow Lifers &  to know you're thinking of them.
Best wishes to @JohnfromNorfolk and Jane, sounds like a great day.

Also want to say to @Fanny Fanackapan, you are one classy lady, always thinking and "doing" for other fans. Proud to know you x

And @TCE, great to hear you were at the Valley again.

Very best wishes to you and Mrs JohnfromNorfolk, @JohnfromNorfolk. I'm really pleased you got to the match, saw a win and were well looked after by those lovely people. I hope you weren't too lost for words when you met DH and the players. There's some in here who'd yabber on like Brownie and end up delaying kick off.
I wish you all the best and my thoughts are with you.
