Feels a bit of a coup to get someone of his standing in at the club.

I know he's worked here before back in January, but that was a temporary basis
  • Absolutely no mention of Gallen/working with gallen…

    can only presume he’s off

Think this is an excellent addition to the SMT. Looking forward to how he gets on now TS and MS aren't involved.

He was sitting alongside the new technical advisor, Simon Lenegan at Millwall last night

his history shows he has a great eye for a player. Clearly a football person. Optimistic.

I'm glad he's back. Now let's see how things progress. Many of my wife's Forest supporting family were very happy with his work there. Yes he spent big, but did have a big budget as well.

Anybody know what exactly a technical director does for their money?

Wasn't in with the SMT pics last night, where you imagine he'd be if he was there

I know Gallen has had he's hands tied a lot of the time because of lousy owners but if he does go i won't be too disappointed . It's probably time for fresh ideas

He wasn't in any pictures but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd rather he was watching other players instead of ours

  • Surely this has got to be better than what was happening before?

Im pleased with our signings so far, but my son keeps reminding me of how mixed our recruitment was in January, whether that was because the takeover hadn’t gone through, and TS wasn’t going to spend our on players, he reminded me of Matt in for Penney in for a pound, who wasn’t great, and some other full back who got injured on his debut, Bonne, everyone’s favourite , but then Thomas and Hector have been ok.

Maybe we’ve moved up from buying in the corner shop, to buying in Asdas?

So is he Dean Holdens day to day line manager then?

If he was involved in that momentous January window , that's gonna be a tough benchmark to follow , if we can top it we've only got good times ahead

    Yes.
Andy Scott is based at Sparrows lane and thank nature he has come back to the club as Technical director; a massive boost for Dean Holden who has both Andy and Charlie Methven who have his back now.
We are doing our up most to improve the players at Cafc.
No guarantees but having family members of owners in football positions has gone to room 101.

If it works as it should then yes he will be Dean's line manager. But Dean will take training and pick the team.

Fully take your point on this.

Out of interest was it ever confirmed MS had influence on recruitment beyond fielding the view from a data analytics perspective or was that just rumour? (I acknowledge he would have been be able to influence TS ultimate decision far easier than the others).

Not sure if this appointment makes Gallen less required or not however.

This is actually a very good point. I've often wondered in the past why he was usually at our games, when surely he should've been off scouting other players.

Maybe i'm confused about his actual role though.

The only temporary aspect was that they didn’t get this concluded then when they wanted to. Methven mouthpiece, Rodwell & Warwick running the business, Scott the football side, Holden the manager, this was the original instalment that wasn’t intending to be a break before coming permanent
