I have been contacted this morning and have an MRI scan tomorrow so they can pinpoint the tumour. I will then have to go into hospital as they want to fit a temporary, (hopefully), 'stoma'. Then the radiotherapy and chemo will start for a 5 week period Mon-Fri every week. Its strange when you get told something like this, I reacted in such a strange way....I said to the consultant "Can you make sure I'm not in hospital when The Open Championship is on?"....he looked quizzically at me and said "Why - are you playing?" That made me laugh and then said "No just watching on TV and its on Sky and the hospitals don't have that!"
He smiled and said, "Yep you make sure we know when the dates are and we'll avoid them!"
How fucking stupid was that conversation? I guess it was my way of coping with the news!

Ah now RM, that’s a kick in the danglies.
But as has been said before, if you deal with it as you have previous bumps in the road, you will beat this bastard thing!
Sending all my love to you ♥️0 -
Its seems like a million years ago I was introduced to Wally aka @Redmidland who told me when we first met the reason he answers to Wally is because he wasn't fond of his real name Malcolm which amused my warped sense of humour.
I remember the first time I went to his home in Tup'north to do some training with my first dog, he introduced me to his wife Angie and after a coffee he pissed off upstairs to do the CL match commentary on a game that afternoon.
I was left with Angie a lady I'd just met, stuck in a field in the arse end of nowhere.
Angie and I amused ourselves at Wally's expense most evenings via Facebook as regularly Wally fall asleep in the chair around 7.30 and would send me a photo which of course would be posted on here.
Wally's rants on FB are legendary and along with my Missus who can also get annoyed by stuff that is so irrelevant its no coincidence that both have heart problems, not to say I don't love them both but f*** me both need to chill a little.
At nearly 135 years old Wally faces another hiccup in life sh*tstorm of trials and hurdles and Ive no doubt he'll overcome this one too, if for no other reason so we can get down The Valley and I can continue to introduce you to staff as "My Dad"
Love you Wally, don't ever change mate x

PS To the person responsible for introducing me to Wally..................... To quote Liam Nielson....."I will find you and when I find you"13 -

My goal is to see CAFC in the Prem League, but before then to see as many games at The Valley as I can. I've not bought a ST yet, but that is my goal as soon as Sangaard leaves and I'm out of hospital. Yes I'm scared, but it's flight or fight, I've never runaway....I don't intend to start now x15 -
Wishing you the very best for a full recovery @Redmidland You are clearly a fighter and you have the whole of CL behind you! Warm wishes Paul1

I have no symptoms and am relaxed. Let’s see how things progress. Shows the importance of having regular bowel screening.7 -
