    Well we met up with the niece of the man who got his mates together to start Charlton Athletic (Eddie Marshall).
    Speaking with her and her husband was interesting to say the least.

    A niece of a man who started the club…..way back in the early 1900’s.
    Rather unlikely that a niece and her husband of his would still be alive I’d have thought…..maybe I’m wrong here?
    Plus I’ve never heard of Eddie Marshall…..by the sounds of it, perhaps I should have done?

    Thanks - don’t know the circumstances behind you having one image but just thought it was really interesting and fascinated by the circumstance of a 15 year old starting a team in 1905 and less than 30 years later seeing 75,000 people watching them play.

    Reckon he could be a Marshall from my mums side. My nan and grandad lived in 648 Woolwich Road opposite the Vic (where we then lived up until I was 16) and Harden Court is just along opposite the Millionaire / Dockers, so reckon Harden Street was possibly there. Considering mum's family populated a lot of the area, mostly Mirfield Street and Holgate Street down by the river, got a feel he's one of the clan.

    Yeah, Barry's. Remember my nan sending us along to buy them crusty rolls. Done a nice cream doughnut n all.

    No luck so far with your lump of timber. I'm having a drive out to a yard I know in Sussex at some point, so I'll ask there
