Is Kanu likely to play?0
-
I hope we win today and Millwalls younguns win tomorrow, that’ll be a tasty final0
-
I am looking forward to being there today, but a word of warning that Sheffield United are seldom a pushover at this level, but then again neither are we.2
-
Wonder if train strikes will put people off, shame for the kids if that affects attendance.
I got my ticket but now looking at what routes I'm going to have to take instead as no trains0 -
Is anyone knowledgeable enough able to do a breakdown of the charlton team please ? Imagine most of us know who Kanu & Mitchell are. Plus, any names that we might see in the early pre-season matches at Welling/Dartford.0
-
My knowledge is far from comprehensive, and please bear in mind that all young players can make mistakes and be inconsistent.
A few from memory would be Zach Mitchell, a tall authoritative central defender or midfielder attacking from deep positions. Toby Bower diminutive yet stocky left back, can be a captain, delivers good set pieces and crosses, has precision in his passing play, will look to defend competitively. Henry Rylah is powerful yet sometimes coltish, has good pace and is a good crosser of the ball and can change games, high hopes for him. Nathan Asimwe a powerful looking right back, once in the groove he can do more than hold the fort he can make a difference too. Patrick Casey a prolific goalscorer, efficient quite slippery and simply seems to have ‘the knack’ if that makes sense. Daniel Kanu eager, competitive, often well marshalled yet can score for fun.
I mainly know these guys from U21 level, I hope another poster more familiar with the U18’s can add more.4 -
I am sure this is already on here somewhere but I didn't realise it was 5pm.so may be able to make it. As a season ticket holder (last season and already bought for next) I should be free I think but on the website it says I have to pay when I put in my basket... Is that right?0

I will take my season ticket and I expect that to be enough once past the hither and thither faff they always make you do.0

My understanding is that before the game the Steve Clarke trophy will be awarded (I know who but won’t say). The award last year went to Henry Rylah.0

I find the online stuff confusing and difficult. If I were younger it might be second nature but it isn’t.0 -

Don't suppose the West Stand car park is open/free today ?0 -
Some of the players at this level
In goal - Ahmed Kone - Superb shotstopper, very confident with the ball at his feet. Not always the best distribution. Could do with bulking up a bit however does appear a fair bit taller than when I first saw him 18 months ago. Very rarely disappoints. I really like him
Asiimwe - Big and strong. Very decent full back but decent going forwards too.
Bower - Wand of a left foot. If we get a free kick around the box you can expect him to be sniffing around. Tenacious but often targeted because of his stature. Might struggle against genuine pace
Keenan Gough - one of the younger ones I believe but has the stature already. maybe not the quickest but brave
Mitchell - hoinestly think he is going to be a star. Loves to play the game and gives 100% every time. Seriously talented player. Enjoy him while you can
Laqueratabua - only seen him a few times but my god was he impressive. I think he was eligible for the u15's but was playing U18s when I first saw him and he fit right in. Not seen a lot of him this season - I think he may have been injured
Ollie Hobden - Not a bad attacking full back but behind Asiimwe in the peckling order
Karoy Anderson - Another excellent talent. box to box, can tackle, can pass and has a lot of skill with both feet. If we nirture properly he has the tools to go to the top
Ryan Huke - attacking midfielder or second striker. Tigerish but not the biggest. Lots of heart and skill thugh
Brook Myers - new kid on the block for me so not seen him a lot but he catches the eye. Very direct and a bit unorthodox. Certainly one to watch
Rylah - Not many 17 year olds get a 3 year deal - just goes to show what we think of him. Excellent prospect
Harvey Kedwell - Not the biggest but loves to tackle. Hard as nails and a bit of a windup merchant.
Kai Enslin - One of the younger ones I think. Not seen a lot but looked exciting when I have seen him. Scored an absolute belter at Princes Park in one game I saw
Kanu - Technically not brilliant but give him a chance and he'll score. He is extremely good at the hardest part of the game - finishing. Not great as a lone striker but worked very well with Miles last season.
Casey - not seen a huge amount but he is quite prolific. When I've seen him he wasn't outstanding but was Johnny-on-the-spot to finish chances. More like Sheringham - not blisteringly fast but very intelligent, great technique and pretty strong too. And a potent finisher.
Not wishing to blow smioke up these kids arses but they are a superb group of players. I can definitely see a few getting first team minutes in the next season -

How is Jason Adigun improving these days?0

I wouldn’t expect the takeover to impact u18s signing deals, it’s not as if they’ll be on thousands per week.1 -
I just bought my ticket as a print at home so I have downloaded it to show them on arrival. What could go wrong0
-
Great for Josh to be called up by Fiji.
Was almost hoping he'd represent them instead of England, when I first heard that his heritage was from there.
Could be facing United States | Ecuador | Slovakia0 -
That first half was the best football I have seen from one of our teams in years - wonderful game.2
