I can`t help thinking that the current negotiations are not the same ones that started out all those months ago. I suspect that the deal we were all expecting about a month ago fell through and we are now running again with a different party. On that basis any deal is probably some time off. How this impacts on the Bailey, Fortune scenario is I think a little worrying. They won`t wait too many more weeks before getting themselves sorted I would imagine.

Oooh I wanna add to this. My dad spoke to his friend who does matchday electric at the valley and they're waiting on a payment as was told that today would be the day.

Having said that, I doubt if there was an offer announced or a takeover, suppliers wouldn't get paid immediately as surely money wouldn't go through immediately and I'm sure directors have stuff to do rather than sign cheques.

I'll add to that. Somebody I have known only by name, who is well connected to both Charlton and in my industry told me that today is the day that the final offer will be tabled - take it or leave it....

Hmmm, yourself and Suzi really aren't part of the silly rumour brigade so I tend to put a bit of credence in this. Still best and final offers are rarely best or final.

Don't forget my offer guys and gals....a bottle of Moet for the first poster on here to name the takeover person or organisation....AFTER it has been officialy anounced either on the club web site or at a press conference.
I can't acccept a winner prior to that of course because it would be deemed as either hearsay, insider knowledge or a guess.
Prize to be collected prior to first home game of the season in The Con Club.
I realise that this offer will obviously put certain posters at an advantage....but we can't have it all ways....anyway it's just a bit of fun.
