Football arrests 'highest in years' & disorder on the rise - police

    Millwall will quote our 16 as being higher than their 15 and try and claim the moral high ground though.

    Also the 33 banning orders were West Ham in disguise and people being banned for not wearing Stone Island to a home game
    The club absolutely will not. What a weird thing to say. 

    It does seem, however, that we are more proactive when it comes to issuing banning orders. Although that's probably just down to competency and having the required staffing levels to act accordingly.
    Yeah nothing to do with having more dickheads as fans ;)

    The tides are a changing, if the regular reports on here of unruly behaviour are anything to go by. I think the much vaunted c*** filter is in need of a serious clean  ;)

    The EFL will host a match experience Fan Forum on Tuesday, March 28th (6.30pm-8pm).

    Fans can attend virtually via a pre-event sign-up process.

    Hosted by Sky Sports' David Prutton, the event will broadcast virtually to an online audience, with an array of debates and discussions from a panel of supporters and industry representatives.

    The sessions will explore the measures adopted ahead of the 2022/23 season to combat anti-social and illegal behaviour within stadia on matchdays, and importantly will look at how fans, clubs and other stakeholders can work together to play an important role in creating a positive matchday experience across EFL matches.

    I I can’t help thinking that a fair proportion of the arrests are due to there being a number of disorder and arrest-able offences that have been taken more seriously and not necessarily more offences being committed.

    The key reason in my opinion is the OB are standing around with video cameras and more interested in arrests than prevention. They would happily walk around with cameras, than physical intervention.
    It wasn’t that long ago that roads would be sectioned off by physical presence.
    Part of me thinks they actually want this.

    Touching on football violence see a Blackpool fan died at the weekend I’ve actually met him before at England away games, what at 1st seems a tragic fight that went wrong transpires that 15 of blackpools firm “ the muckers “ went to the away pub to cause a row with a small sloth of Burnley that were lingering around after the game, have seen the video and it’s a melee of punches being thrown at the Burnley lot one of the throws a punch back and a 1 punch killer

    Yeah saw this online earlier in the week. Obviously it's sad he's died, no one should go to a football match and never come home, and his family and friends will be devastated. But it's kind of hard to have sympathy when he was part of a group that actively went looking for trouble at an away fans pub.

    Not to mention he was 55! Imagine being 55 and going looking for fights.

    The number of football matches in England and Wales with reported incidents of disorder increased by 18% during the 2024-25 season, according to latest policing figures.

    The Home Office says the number of reported incidents rose from 1,341 in 2023-24 to 1,583 and include football-related violence, disorder, anti-social behaviour and harm.

    The most common offences for arrest were public disorder (32%), violent disorder (22%) and the possession of Class A drugs (19%).
