Today we were informed by Alan’s wife, that Alan had sadly passed in the early hours of this morning in Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Alan had been a Charlton supporter since 1954 and he was very involved with the club. He had written articles in the Charlton programs and he also worked for the Junior Reds. But I remember him mostly as the right hand man of Colin Cameron, who was his best friend.
To Alan’s wife Maggie, family and friends; our thoughts are with you at the present time.
God bless you gov’ner! You will be truly missed.

Alan was a good friend of mine for many years, although a much closer one of Colin Cameron’s, obviously. He also raised the alarm when Tom Morris dropped off the radar in 2020. Very sorry to hear he’s gone.8

That is very sad, Alan and Colin were great mates and a couple of rascals,
The pair of them would come out with some great stories, as those were the days when fans would mix with the players.
