Madness this broke 3 years ago - and now, because no judge was available, he waits 1 more year!

Exactly - and it's no good to anyone.Swisdom said:Madness this broke 3 years ago - and now, because no judge was available, he waits 1 more year!

Those who lost their money want justice and if he is innocent - i know, i know, but if he is - then that's such a long time to have these charges hanging over you.
The legal system is in a proper mess.9 -
            Trial underway it seems.

Don't know what's worse: the allegations or the revelation that he lives in Crystal Palace!
I guess the info about the trial being next year was a typo.

One of the best defenders I've ever seen - safe as the Bank of England.

He was for Charlton up there with Marvin Hinton, Paul Elliott and not forgetting that late headed equaliser at the ‘98’ Play off final. Sad that if found guilty, whatever his circumstances at the time, he had to turn to crime.Raith_C_Chattonell said:One of the best defenders I've ever seen - safe as the Bank of England.

Agreed. I go back as far as Paul Elliott, just. For me Rufus is the best young player I've seen come through in my time supporting CAFC. His levels of consistency were off the scale.RedChaser said:

Phenomenal footballer, up there as a youth product with Peacock, Bonds, Walsh, Elliot, Bowyer, Shelvey, Parker and Gomez.
Really tragic what has transpired.5 -

Judge Dafna Spiro released Rufus on bail ahead of his sentencing hearing on January 12 but told him: “The inevitable sentence is going to be one of custody.”

Great footballer. C*** of a human being. Shocking that this has taken so long.2

            if you do the crime....0

As much as I loved him as a player, he’s proved himself to be a fucking scumbag.2
 -
How long is he likely to get?

True. Bizarre really, considering he was born again with good Christian values ;-)DaveMehmet said:As much as I loved him as a player, he’s proved himself to be a fucking scumbag.0 -

What a depressing story. The illegal trading started only 3 years after he retired too0

Agreed. Sad to read but deserves the punishment that comes his way. A family member was a fan and used to post on here (May still do), I feel for them as well as the financial victims.killerandflash said:What a depressing story.
