That'll do nicely. Well played England.0

to get any sort of atmosphere out there you need a team with good support progressing.
Iran, morocco, Qatar or Saudi - but they wont.
watching that match it was so flat even England fans couldn't be heard.0 -
Why has Shearer got such a big writing pad?

Nice goal that.
Stones completed more passes than any England player ever in a tournament game and Southgate has now won more finals games than any England manager ever.5 -
Great result and performance. Ref should be sent home.1

Think Saka has quieted any calls for Foden instead of him the next game.
Imagine they'll rotate but would rather Sterling and Foden rotated instead.
We do well this tournament if Kane, Bellingham and Rice stay injury or suspension free.
Iran looked proper poor though, were a slightly better Qatar.

What a pleasure to watch a performance like that after the shit we've been served up by Charlton this season. We have such an exciting frontline and genuine depth on the bench. Trying not to get too excited as it's early doors, and our weakest group opponent, but that was great.2

Trying to squeeze the game into a lunch break, 27 minutes injury time was not the order of the day!11

Just thought there were a few occasions where we scored pretty easy goals, without him really trying to make a save1 - Sponsored links:

It reminded me of the Euro Qualifying games when the opposition sound and look more suited to winning the Eurovision song contest than a football match.
That said we can only play what is in front of us, so we move on following a resounding win however I take very little from today's result, much tougher tests are round the corner.

Yes losing their keeper effected them, but the simple fact is that England were far too good for them. I've rarely seen us move the ball so well in a match of this type. Usually if the opposition sit back then we pass sideways at a pedestrian pace for 90 minutes and hope to nick a goal at some stage. There were large swathes of this match where we looked like scoring every attack.
The goals were disappointing, the first due to complacency after going 4 up and the second a farce. But every team who watches that, even if they think they may be able to get at our defence, will be terrified of our attacking options.2 -

If Iran are the 20th best footballing side on the planet, then I'm a monkey's uncle.
But, I am quietly excited by our attacking options in the starting 11 and from the bench.
Bellingham gives us something a bit different as well. Hopefully his goal will fill him with even more confidence.2 -
Before today these were Iran's last 4 games.
You would probably expect them to come 2nd or 3rd in most groups at this world cup?
They aren't "making up the numbers".2 -

A win is a win. Happy enough with that result, despite Iran bagging two.0

Let's see how they get on against USA and Wales who are 4 and 1 place higher than them in the rankings.0 -
