    Ed. Don’t want to derail
  • RIP your Majesty.  What a remarkable woman.
  • Has this actually happened?

    Terrible news if so.

I haven't seen anything else about it apart from the title

    Rest in peace 👸 👑
  • Can't quite believe it
  • RIP your majesty.
  • Such a sad day - RIP
  • I think that the forum is going to have one hell of a time when she does eventually pass away. Not just CL of course but the entire country too.
Just reading this thread it’s clear there is going to be divided opinions and maybe some folk will be genuinely very upset (I know I will be) and not want to hear anything other than sadness and respect for her.
I suppose we will simply have to see how things turn out, but there will certainly be tension in the air.
Anyway….let’s hope it’s a long way off yet and I’m seeing and worrying unnecessarily about things that aren’t really there.
RIP I most definitely will wish her. 70 years in one job is enough.
  • The following poem is being shared on social media but I think it is lovely, even if you don't believe:

    Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as I whispered that "I know”.

I then turned and looked behind me,
    and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.

    I gently touched each shoulder,
    with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
    with My Angel guide.

    Phillip held my hand,
    as he lead the way,
to a world where Kings and Queens,
    are Monarchs every day.

I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
    The difference is up here,
    they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
    as the people's friend.

    Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace Charlton up above.
fixed it now it's perfect x

  • Our Father's Kingdom has received one of its most loyal servants.

May Elizabeth rest in peace and rise in glory.

    God save the King!
  • Carter said:
I always sing the national anthem and I'm on of those dicks who looks down on people who don't or don't know the words. Like 95% of the population, in fact probably 100% of those who sing the national anthem I think it will be legitimately, emotionally heart wrenching to never sing it again on an occasion it would have previously been sung.

England away in Italy in a few weeks and I’ll def be singing GSTQ for that one, being so soon after her passing.
  • England need to win the world Cup for the Queen
  • Listening to some reactions outside Windsor Castle and this one stood out:
    ”A guiding light
    A moral compass
An example of how to conduct ourselves
A sense of right and wrong”.
  • Sure I mentioned it on here before - When we moved out of SE7 and up to Mottingham, I'd get a bus on a Friday night from Mottingham to Woolwich Common and walk across the Common, over the wall of the cemetery, through the deer park and knock about with my mates down Pound Park, Harvey and Floyd Road. One rainy evening, I got to the crossroads of HaHa Road and Stadium / Repository Road when a copper stopped me on the pavement and the cars that were coming along HaHa Road. A few minutes later, a cortege of 3 or 4 cars started coming out the gates of what was the Military Hospital (now Stadium Road). In the middle was an old Daimler Princess with the lights on in the back and The Queen and Prince Philip in the back. Pretty sure I didn't bother telling my mates when I eventually got down Charlton as never thought they'd believe me.

I'm no royalist but without doubt she was the epitomy of class, grace and dedication.
There never was, is or ever will be anyone like her in the public image.
    A constant in everyone's life.
A huge loss for this country.
  • Couple of Commonwealth Countries maybe;

Australia... Canada... New Zealand all have plans in place for when it happens
NZ is in official mourning.  May she test in peace.
